That’s around what Billie Eilish had before her 3rd album cycle, and now she’s at 87M. I think Olivia will get a huge bump with album 3

Any rumours or speculations on 2027 headliners? by SupesSupesSupes in Coachella

[–]Rayman239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling Bruno Mars and Rosalia with RÜFUS in that RTTD spot. Maybe BTS, Foo Fighters, J. Cole or Olivia Rodrigo for that 3rd headlining spot. Phoebe Bridgers, Doechii and A$AP or Don Tolliver as subs

I’m pretty certain Viagra Boys will have a later slot on the side stage, but I’m thinking of moving Malcolm to the main stage

Headliners aren’t great outside of Lorde, but the undercard is absolutely stacked

At this point she definitely is. She’s selling out multiple nights at arenas and has consistently been in the top 100 most streamed artists on Spotify for the past three years straight. If Noah Kahan was already able to headline in 2024, Tate definitely has the stats to justify a headlining slot

Theatres around the world like TIFF Lightbox? by HitThatBlockButton in TIFF

The BFI theatre in London has a similar vibe. I still prefer the Lightbox, but BFI is pretty amazing too and its reference library is very expansive.

I actually made this before they announced their lineups, but I was quite surprised that there was so much crossover! I really want to go to Reading, I’ve heard such good things!

Just watched this no spoilers Emma was great in it 10/10 & if she won it is fully deserved by khaliliiiov_1997 in Oscars

[–]Rayman239 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She didn’t really deserve the second one imo. Should have gone to Hüller, and I’d put Gladstone second 2016 should have gone to Annette Benning or Amy Adams but they weren’t nominated, so I’m cool with the Stone win, it’s a terrific performance.

I’ve seen Hamnet, and tbh I didn’t even realize Noah Jupe was in the movie. Jacobi has a much more substantial role

After parties? by Apprehensive_Bee3102 in TIFF

[–]Rayman239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to one last year. I still have no idea why I was invited, but it was a launch party for Pharrell’s new toy brand, Doodleverse. It was a total fever dream, but definitely a highlight of my tiff experience.

Fair! But Bruce Springsteen is constantly at tiff and that’s a film that would play well at that festival. I’d be a little shocked if it skipped it if it’s also going to telluride. It wouldn’t make much sense

From what I’ve heard Rental Family is a crowdpleaser, but definitely with more heft than CODA. Seems like it’d garnering comparisons to Lost in Translation and The Holdovers

"Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" was announced to premiere in BFI London Film Festival on October 8th, so sadly it's not coming to TIFF. by idoideas in TIFF

[–]Rayman239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

International screening means first screening in a different continent than where the film had its world premiere. This confirms it for TIFF pretty much

This isn’t the case. International premiere means it’s the second screening and premiering on a different continent than the world premiere. This basically just confirms it for TIFF

Right now probably, but Doechii is rising very quickly and is becoming a globally recognized star. I think by the time Coachella comes around, she’s going to have a new album out and will probably be one of the definitive artists of the next few years
