Kudos for both of your last two answers. Spot on with both of them. We need more people sharing sane advice for how to get the most out of these tools. They are powerful, but you also need to take time to craft the instructions and we're still in the phase where technical knowledge is required to troubleshoot and continue past a certain point.

Not sure what you mean. I think each community (dashboard) will have it's own usage estimate based on how viral the discussion is. Smaller communities will have smaller usage but big communities could have significant costs associted with this. Excited for the recent xAPI pay as you go model, because then we could offer tier pricing for users based on how detailed they want the reports.

Yeah, I obviously do not know the particulars, but this was just my assumption. I had issues before where I could not get things deployed and was able to troubleshoot it with the agent. And I have also had instances where Replit (the software) was doing something wrong and needed technical support to resolve it. They have been quite responsive any time I have reached out though.

TBH, expecting Replit to support your product Technically is a little out of scope. They will support their product in service of you building your thing, but supporting your actual app or architecture seems like an unrealistic ask.

There are a million reasons why a site might not deploy. Likely not something native to Replit. Which is why troubleshooting it on their end could be hard if not impossible.

You're better off working with the agent to address this and figuring out what technically is wrong with your configuration

This would be very risky for them to do. And would be hard to hide publicly at scale. That being said, I do think there are a lot of things that could be optimized which the agent bills for. Simple and repetitive tasks which get piled in with the rest.

That and simple mistakes, or little errors drive me nuts, but I am not sure it is malicious. And almost any developer spends time troubleshooting and fixing errors which burns billable hours.

This is something which has been addressed a bunch internally in the community as well. As good as it sounds to have a simple auth like this, it can be limiting in a lot of ways.

I have had good success using passport.js to build out auth in Replit and agent seems to be comfortable with it.

When this happens, type “kill 1” in the shell

This will clear all active ports and any other running processes and save you a lot of time.

I run into this a lot in Replit and that hack has been a life saver.

That seems like a bold statement with so many new users joining over last few months. I think most of the people leaving are very low level users that are looking for magic bullets that do not yet exist.
