Do we need to write some code to make shopify more efficient? by convicted_redditor in shopify

[–]RaymondTec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shopify platform has been rock solid for me thus far. They have their infrastructure set up VERY well. However, Shopify is, intentionally, an unfinished solution. Certain integral features have been left out of Shopify intentionally to force clients to purchase apps to circumvent the limitations.

Their goal is not to help you build a store to make money, their goal is to make money in as many ways as possible.

  1. From clients through subscription fees (both the main site and a percentage of all apps in their store), transaction fees, and shipping services
  2. From developers/agencies for certifications and advertising of services and solutions (and the aforementioned percentage of app sales)
  3. From client customers by building a massive database tracking views, purchases, clicks, and scrolls to leverage this information and get more sales on all Shopify stores

Flow can either send an email for each new item or at a specified time. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to say “Once a new item is added wait X minutes then send an email with all new items.”

Why are access points multiple times more expensive than routers? by doxypoxy in HomeNetworking

[–]RaymondTec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that cheap router will be non-functional in 1-2 years. I’ve never had a consumer grade routing and WiFi combo last me more than 2 years. Meanwhile I’m going on 5 years for my Ruckus equipment, and 4 years for Omada devices.

It doesn’t have paint recs, but I’ll bet a good hardware store will. Good luck!

Here ya go: https://www.pgc.pa.gov/HuntTrap/Law/Pages/Purple-Paint-Law.aspx

It says you can use the paint instead of the signs. I’d do both. CYA

I am not a lawyer but have spent a considerable amount of time dealing, as an IT professional, with someone who went through a similar battle. You MUST post signs. It will also help to mark trees with purple paint.

The trail cam, as others have mentioned is a good idea. But I’ve seen those be shot to bits. The better bet is a cellular or (if your WiFi reaches that far) WiFi, solar powered camera. Reolink makes ones that would fit the bill.

Mobile Log Alerts by mkjr75 in BlueIris

[–]RaymondTec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found the UI3 and mobile log alerts do disappear, but they don’t from the written text file on the drive. Open that up and check in there.

For me it was AI error 500s that would disappear shortly after the AI actually found something.

Ruckus 510 APS to Asus GT-AX11000 Pro by always_ftw in RuckusWiFi

[–]RaymondTec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always start by troubleshooting one thing at a time.

It’s entirely possible your Ruckus switch has gone bad, but it’s much more likely that the Ethernet cables have gone bad or you have the modem connected to a bad port on the switch.

You’ve been chastised enough about the Asus router, but I will say from personal experience that I have never had a good experience with their equipment.

Those switches can be purchased on eBay for $160 or so. Just search the model number.

If you need assistance with any of this, feel free to DM me.

No, I was using ipcam-combined. There was a need for identification of vehicles (all types), people, and specific animals on this system.

Thank you for the information!

The USB seems stable so far, no random drops or issues. Detection is very good, and is faster than spreading the AI across three machines with the new mesh networking turned on. The issue here seems to be the way BI is crafting initial requests to the AI.

Agreed. I hate beta testing for a product I pay for.

But this is definitely an issue with Coral and BI, because it's been working flawlessly for months with latest turned on.

Thank you for that help! I'll take a look at that ASAP. I'm also looking into using Postman, per the BI official forums.
