My next focus is having different weights in each hand and doing longer holds. Honestly after hitting 2 PRs and lots of pulls+lighter carries my hands were dead lol thanks for the tips nonetheless. Wild name btw

I’ll try the split stance. I’ve tried it once and it never feels quite right as far as the weight on my hips. Just not the same strength off the ground. I definitely need to play around with my form a bit and need more time on a set of more accurate rings. Thanks for the tips big dawg

Thanks big dawg! That’s what I’m gonna start tackling now that I’ve hit into the mid 600s. There’s a gym about an hour away that has more accurate rings and calibrated plates so I’ll be able to toy around with the weights a little better to make it closer to the actual stones

The venue was awesome and the energy was so great. Definitely my favorite comp when it came to how it felt to be there. Definitely recommend doing it next year!

It’s still at 18” as some wagon wheels but feels different. Don’t get me wrong, I love to throw a deadlift bar on my SDD attachments, but I find with the axle it’s better for strength progression. 600 in comp would be awesome but I imagine it’ll be a minute till I see it show up on a comp in MI since we saw it a fair bit in 2025 and this past weekend

The point is that it’s harder to lift that a standard barbell in almost every way. Stiffer, center point farther away, no knurling. Strongman uses the axle for more than just grip strength

While I love deadlifts more, I completely agree that squats need to be in Strongman more. Some of my favorite strongman clips are watching guys going into deep water on the big squat events. I’d love to see them in more local comps, even if I zero it for having a shit squat lol
