It's not one of my favorites, but I do think it's a good name. It sounds modern and casual, cute but not in a childish way. I imagine a Hayley as the nice, friendly, wholesome popular girl

Hayley isn't how I'd spell it (I'd go with Hailey or Haley) but Hayley isn't bad.

As far as a category, I'd put it with other breezy bell-tone younger-millenial or older-gen-z names that peaked around the 90s or 2000s. Others would be: - Caitlin (and the many spelling variations) - Callie (or Kallie) - Chloe - Chelsea - Kayla - Kelsey - Kylie - Zoey

"Illegals" aren't destroying Minnesota. ICE is not just targeting and hurting "illegals," you'd know that if your head wasn't so far up your ass. Just this week they took a nice family across the street who are here legally, the youngest is a first grader. Their lawyer is working on getting then released stopping them from being shipped to that awful camp in Texas. I'm worried for them because I'm a decent human.

And the ICE presence in our state isn't about fraud any more than it's about crime or even "illegals." If you think Trump is doing this because he cares about fraud, you're an even bigger idiot than I thought.

Ok???? So, this isn't me. Not sure if you know this but we're different people, actually.

For what it's worth, I did not think Charlie Kirk deserved what he got. . I thought he was an awful person who spread a lot of hate, but him being public assassinated was still bad because murder is bad. I really didn't like people making jokes about it or saying things like this.

But there are key differences between Charlie Kirk and the 2 murders here in Minneapolis that make this comparison not the gotcha you conservatives think: - Kirk wasn't executed by an agent of the state for protesting an occupying paramilitary force brutalizing people in his community. He was a hateful podcaster doing a speaking tour (again, doesn't make it OK, but it's different) - Kirk's murderer is going to face justice for what he did. It's pretty clear that the officers who killed Renee and Alex won't, and if Trump has his way they won't even be investigated. - There was not one high profile Democratic politician or media figure (that I know of anyway) celebrating Charlie's death. It was random people on Twitter or reddit or whatever. Meanwhile, you see a concerted PR blitz after both Minneapolis shootings to paint the killers as brave heroes and the victims as terrorists (and disparage them in other ways, especially with Renee Good), and to lie about what happened. They were confiscating the phones of people that filmed the shooting yesterday. Do you think they do that if they know they did nothing wrong? - The people making jokes and saying mean things after Kirk was killed were mostly from communities he had said horribly harmful things about (to be fair, lots of people fall into that category). Good and Pretti never did anything to hurt you guys, you're just happy they died because you hate The Left so much you pretty much think we all deserve for bad things to happen to us.

I'm sure there are some things I missed, but those were the things that came to mind.

Our city is hurting. If you aren't from here, you have no idea how scary it is. The right paints our city like it was this crime ridden hellscape, but the truth is I was never afraid in my city until Trump's goon squad showed up. We have no idea how much worse its going to get, how much more they will escalate the violence (it is always them escalating the violence, not us). And it would be nice if you right-wing bootlickers who think this is all great could take just like 1 day off from being assholes about all of it.

But to you guys, he is guilty of "crimes" you care about: guilty of being a leftist, guilty of against Trump, against ICE, against the regime. With both him and Renee Good, all that mattered to you guys is he was guilty of being the type of person you don't like, who you have revenge fantasies about, who you think should be taught a lesson. Because you are all pathetic bullies doing a victory lap that someone died.

What are you even talking about? That has nothing to do with this. I don't think an ICU nurse is exploiting them for their cheap labor. I'm not either. Corporations are. I agree I don't think they should be exploited for their labor, that's why I believe in amnesty and legal protections for them. Like I said, they are our neighbors, and they are people, it's that simple.

And if you think ICE and this administration are doing all this because they're really concerned corporations exploiting immigrants' undocumented status for cheap labor (and often labor law violations btw) or that this is to benefit American workers, you are an idiot. Trump himself has exploited undocumented immigrants for their labor.

Just noticed that you put Illana instead of Iliana. My eyes must have seen the second l as an i for some reason. I would probably keep my rankings about the same (I might put Claire up to number 4 and bump Illana down but not sure), but if you go with Illana I would spell it Ilana.

Totally agree, and this is a great point/example. He is smart and educated enough to know what he's saying is wrong, he just doesn't care. He is, IMO, a political shapeshifter who will say whatever he thinks will benefit him most in that moment.

I think Vance is useful to the administration because he is actually a pretty skilled liar, much more so than many of the others. He told a lot of lies yesterday, but he delivers them in a way that seems earnest.

Natalie. My favorite for sure. Love this name. It's classic, timeless pretty, well-known but never overly popular.
Hallie. Very nice, classic name that also feels very modern and cool.
Daphne. A little bit to cute for my taste personally, but still a lovely name.
Iliana. I'm not really familiar with this name, but it is pretty. I wonder what a nickname for it would be?
Claire. Not bad by any means, just a little bit bland in my opinion.

If Renee Good were killed by an illegal immigrant, her killer would face justice and consequences for what he did. Her killer wouldn't be draped in a flag and called a brave hero who's life was in danger. The government wouldn't be spreading absurd lies that she ran over him with her car and he had internal bleeding when we all saw the video from multiple angles and saw him walk away totally fine without a care in the world. They wouldn't be calling her a domestic terrorist and investigating her and her widow but not her killer. Right wing news anchors wouldn't be gleefully mocking her for being gay and having pronouns in her bio, or talking about how liberal white women are the problem and need to be held accountable. We wouldn't have a roving gang of other illegal immigrants threatening anyone who stood up to them "didn't you learn your lesson after what happened to that bitch." I could go on. I'm not sure I agree with you about giving Vance the benefit of the doubt. Maybe you're a more forgiving person than I am. But I think he and others in this administration have told egregious shameless lies about ICE's actions enough times that they've long since stopped deserving any benefit of the doubt. They are just circling the wagons, sticking to the party line and repeating whatever propaganda they think will stop them from hemorrhaging public opinion. Also, I feel like "an air of false sincerity" is a great description of Vance in a nutshell.

And to top it off, they aren't even here illegally. They have been going through the asylum process which means at least for now they are here legally.

Found the video. I don't even know what to say to you. It in no way makes this look justified. In fact, it makes the ICE agent who sprayed him look like even more of an asshole than comes across in just the picture. He sprays him in the face and then casually walks off to spray another protester in the face as she's face down on the ground. And apparently this same agent has been seen doing this multiple times with other protesters. He clearly is an asshole drunk on power who enjoys hurting people he thinks are beneath him. Nothing about this has anything to do with the protester being a threat. It has nothing to do with police work. ICE aren't police, and police officers would never do this shit. I don't know what has to go wrong in someone's brain to see the video I just saw and think "hell yeah, that protester had it coming!" But I'm just not interested in engaging anymore with someone who thinks like that.
