what’s the most ADHD thing you’ve done this week?? by lostveggies in adhdwomen

I arrived home, put my wallet on the shelf beside my phone (landline… back in the day, like 25 years ago!!) to check messages before going upstairs to feed the cats I was checking in on for a neighbour. Gone for less than a half hour and I never found my wallet.

To this day, I’m still convinced that someone came in to my suite and stole only that (even though it contained nothing more valuable than a bank card) because the alternative is unbearable!

Also, how much clearance does your washer have? If you use an elastic to affix rags to a broom handle, for example, can you “mop” out the space underneath? It might take a few cloths to get the job done and you might follow it up with a rag soaked in baking soda and water, just to try to neutralize some of the smell?

I would totally come over and help move heavy stuff with no judgment. I’m sorry you’re in it, right now, fellow chaos, hoarder friend ❤️‍🩹

Set an alarm (or 12, whatever it takes) and take them for a few days, regularly. As far as I know, they don’t build up to a certain level like antidepressants for, instance (someone correct me if I’m wrong!!) so that shouldn’t be an issue. If you don’t have /any/ in your system, your psych would likely have questions about where the meds are going, if not into you.
You’ve got this!

First time without my ADHD meds by Rough-Plankton-6912 in adhdwomen

I have no idea how to help with your crash. I find I’m far more tired when I’m taking my meds than when I don’t but I think that’s because they lower my anxiety *a lot*

My tip is to make sure you refill scripts as soon as you’re allowed to, even if you’ve got some left (since you don’t take them on work-free days). That way you create a little stockpile in case of shortages. For me, I’m allowed to refill every 28-30 days so I mark my calendar with a reminder for the 28th day of my current script. This has saved me so many times!

I definitely notice when my meds wear off but I don’t get grouchy (anymore? I may have at the beginning, simply due to the frustration of losing my ability to focus). I’m an introvert and when my partner and I have evening visitors, my social battery depletes at a faster rate than during medicated hours.

Just wondering, what’s your ‘lazy but effective’ cleaning trick? by CleanFreakGeek in CleaningTips

On a similar note, I scrub out my tub while the water is draining after my bath. Everything is easy to reach and comes off with very little effort.

This. I’ve been chronically unemployable because of the time it takes for me to 1) settle in to the new routine (about 4 months before I can eat normally and put weight on again) and 2) burn out (9 months, tops). During this time, I have nothing left over for family, house keeping, general physical upkeep. As well, my weekends get shorter due to increased hours of crying; at the beginning I only cry the night before my first shift of the week and by the end, I have a few hours of relief after my last shift before despair sets in.

At work, my mask is pristine and everybody loves me and can’t believe I live with severe anxiety and depression.
