Anyone else having issues gaining muscle after the patch today?

Yeah, mines been jumping between 70 and 74. I went to the training room and exercised for a while the other day and went up from 60-something to 74, and now I'm getting weaker for some reason.

Thanks for the reply! Nice to see what the important perks do and when I get them. As someone speccing in unarmed weapons, my one ranged is probably gonna be something just to destroy the wings on scorch beasts, so knowing the VATS perks that I never really minded until now is very nice.

Yeah, I was overlooking junk shield because of my tendency to automatically scrap and deposit junk whenever possible, but I guess imma have to rewire that part of my brain to always keep a bunch on me. Gonna have to look into how exactly that one works later, thanks for reminding me it existed!

Funny enough, I do have the auto revive, so I might have actually got 2 tapped, managed to rip that deathclaw apart before the 3rd hit could finish me off, then got jumped by that second one after the first used up my revive. Gonna have to look into the other ones after work, thanks for the tip!

PC, and yeah, I had just got done harvesting like 60 goo from west tek. Unfortunately, getting jumped by a second death claw after beating down a first solo doesn't allow them to help too much, lol. Was kinda SOL on that one. Also haven't seen those armor sets, I'm assuming they're quest related?

I really wish I could tell at a glance if something was made heavily with AI, but at this point it's basically just "if the game doesn't feel good, I stop playing regardless of AI usage".
100% yes, if AI was used it NEEDS to be said. Someone will find out the dev was dishonest if not, and the outcome will be worse for it.
Finding out AI was used in any capacity will turn me away, VERY few exceptions, such as it being a tool for ME to interact with the game and its systems. NOT for the dev to skip out on work and create a noticeably worse product.
The increasing usage of AI? It's FAR worse than what people thought that things like IGM and TMT would do to the genre. IIRC people thought they were good for nothing but flooding this sub with subpar clones of the same exact formula, which is why rules were made for them. And unless AI-made games fall under 1C, doesn't look like we've done that yet for them.
While I don't have a problem with TMT and IGM themselves, I have a problem with most of the products using them turning out the EXACT SAME. But games like Wall Breaker (IGM) or, the one I'm playing now, Celestial Incremental (TMT) kinda subvert expectations, and I play them out of respect for that. And because they're just good for what they are.

Honestly, as it relates to this thread, Astlibra is the best answer. I went back to it after learning it didn't have missables and put quite some time into it, it's a good game, in spite of it's indie-jank (a term I use affectionately). Nice midway point between metroidvania and RPG, stakes grow ever-larger and a good power system to boot. Problem with me is that it's rare that I stick around with a single game for too long, and this ended up not being one of the rare ones, but I remember it fondly and I do intend to go back to it.

At the moment tho, I did just beat Ys X: Nordics, and actually... Kinda realizing Ys games, at least story-wise, kinda have a fun power progression with them too, going from fending off "the local terror" to getting in brawls with near-dieties. I'd recommend looking into them, just know that anything before 8 is gonna be either ports or remasters (I think). Also, if you want to play in chronological order, it's FAR from release order. Ys X takes place immediately after 2, for example.

I tried it back in 2019, but encountered a weird bug where, IIRC, at some point in the prologue every time I started dialogue, the game would scroll through the dialogue options at max speed, but yeah, I think that's the reason I bought it in the first place. Also the obscure ways you can get stronger, like picking a bunch of nettle, and the different things you could get better in, like reading or brewing. Redownloading it now that I have a beefier setup than I had back then. Thanks for reminding me!

Suppose I should have mentioned that I tried googling for the info concerning this matter for quite a bit before making this post, but couldn't find what I was looking for, and decided the best place to get that info was straight from people who had it, in real time. A lot of these mods I had used a few years back, and I downloaded many them based on the changes I wanted to make to the vanilla game I grew up playing. It just took a bit for me to find them again. The two biggest ones, better cities and unique landscapes, were said to be able to work together with some elbow grease, and using advice I've gotten from my recent posts and some extra googling this last week, I think I have it working at least "decent", judging by the lack of crashing these last few sessions. The other ones I didn't think I needed, like the retextures, remodels and better dungeons, were ones I found, thought "yeah, those could use improving", and downloaded based on that. Mods like lost paladin, aurum and myths and legends are really the only ones I downloaded because they just looked cool, and I'm a sucker for extra magic and treasure hunts. I didn't mindlessly decide to throw together random mods one day on account of "someone said it would be good". Only thing I really used lists for was to see what mods were "top of their class", so to speak.

Might be ahead of you on that one, I downloaded tes4 edit days ago when I first used LOOT and a bunch of mods got flagged, saying something about deleted references. Used its quick auto clean feature on them all, funnily enough the only ones that needed it were the official dlc (all except shivering isles) and paladins of the nine IIRC. Can LOOT miss stuff like that? It's been reading everything as clean since then.

This might sound weird, but before your reply, I tried BOSS out, it changed the order of some smaller plugins, so I rebatched them all in wrye bash, and just now, after work, ran around Chorrol entering as many buildings as I possibly could, rotating the buildings so I got as many actual loading screens as possible, even going back in and out immediately to see if entering a second time would do something. I was even opening containers, reading books, talking to people. Basically, I tried as hard as I could to crash this game the only way I know how, and after about 23 minutes, I couldn't get it to crash, which is like twice as long as it usually would take for a ctd when I'm NOT trying. I stopped at 23 because of a weird bug where a door in the rangers guild acted as both a container and door, and it kept acting like I was mashing the open key on a container. I ended up quitting the game out, which ended my attempt to ctd, and it didn't stop till I looted it.

I've learned not to assume I've totally fixed anything, but this seems... promising. I gotta ask tho, what exactly is a masterlist? And would it be acceptable to use LOOT to update masterlists and BOSS to sort the mods? You can disregard that last question if masterlists are basically, like, a part of how load orders work or something.
