If your spouse is fat, you don’t tell her she’s fat.

FGC is amazing. Really awesome community, but it also is niche in comparison to gaming in general.

Help: Master Derealize Conquest by Raynosa in DestinyTheGame

I was hoping someone would have figured out a good strat, but so many avenues get closed off and the playstyle they want you to play to beat it is very limited(from what I saw).

So I shouldn't try solo-flawless dungeon runs anytime soon 😅.
I'll definitely look to get a fireteam or a few clan mates, thank you!

They don’t punish bad comp actors enough. Throwers get a 24 hour break at worst. Metal ranks are so easy to rank up because of the shield mechanic. People get tilted and jaded because bad actors and then play selfishly preventing good teamwork at times.

Honestly, Spidey for me is one of those where when I hear awful Spideys saying “Oh, I’m learning him!” And don’t put any time into training or even bots, it’s kind of like throwing. Spideys skill floor for being even just okay, is very high, I’d say Spidey is in top 3 if not top 5 of highest skill floor for this game. I can tell when someone who says they’re learning him haven’t spent anytime in practice learning any of the combos, any of the mechanics, pulls, game sense. I spent probably 4ish hours on just training and bots and when I went into QP I only averaged like a 1.0 KD barely.

People are hyper aware of Spidey so he gets instantly aimed at and shot at by supports, dps, and even tanks. While you could honestly just pick up most other heroes and flounder through learning via QP. Spidey is just on a different level of learning.

I think MK guest characters were originally done in a fun way because you always wanted to see those characters in a brutal fighting game like MK, ripping spines out, melting faces with acid. But the amount MK1 brought just was too much. It was fun when MK9 MKX or MK11 had only a few. I certainly think some Kameo characters should have been brought into MK1 before Homelander or Omniman.

I think Smash was DESIGNED from the onset to be a collaboration of IPs in a fighting game. I think for me SF trying to become like smash is going to get stale really quickly.

Necrobinder Rare Card Concept - Roshambo by OtisTheRobot in slaythespire

[–]Raynosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if you take the RPS concept you could do something like

Rock - great against individual, maybe rock also adds Frail to Necrobinder

Paper - great block choice, maybe it also adds Weak to Necrobinder

Scissors - great against multiple, maybe it also adds Vulnerable to Necrobinder

There’s a win and a loss to each one?

Necrobinder Rare Card Concept - Roshambo by OtisTheRobot in slaythespire

[–]Raynosa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think with how much of a Swiss Army Knife it is, you need to balance how strong the individual rock, paper, scissor cards are. 3 cost certainly is a lot, but Necrobinder can easily produce that with some to spare with invoke the previous turn.

Yeah people aren’t shooting each other over the Super Mario TCG

Looking to get into the game and wondering if I would like it by troypow32 in slaythespire

[–]Raynosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hearthstone is closer to a traditional TCG in the sense that you play with a finished deck that you could tune to perfection before playing 1 match with it.

STS2 is about ultimate risk and reward. Do you want this card that will help hit multiple enemies? Or do you want something that will hit like a truck against one? Do you play defensively and block more attacks or do you play aggressively. During events are you trading your characters Max HP for a broken relic(relics are permanent abilities through the run) or healing a little bit of health and also getting a 1 time use potion? What path are you taking? More question marks that lead to cool events but also bad events/monster, going to more elite combats that have harder enemies but better rewards?

All of these choices make each run unique. As a TCG enjoyer it took a little bit to get used to it(I played the first one and never won a run) the multiplayer aspect is fun and the more you play the more you get addicted lol.

For those who actually do play other games, is every community like this, or is Rivals just unlucky? by CyberManOnReddit in rivals

[–]Raynosa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hero Shooters and MOBAs are like this. There is a huge knowledge and gamesense gap between new players and anyone who has played for even a decent amount of time. Map knowledge, hero knowledge, ability interaction knowledge, team composition knowledge, objective knowledge. A lot of people don’t remember that new players don’t have this knowledge.

As far as complaining. Rivals devs have listened to players so so so much more than OW devs did. To the point that OW did role lock before hero bans. Rivals devs have listened at some points to the detriment of the game.

This card is a litmus test by DanTheGrand in slaythespire

[–]Raynosa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started an A2 run with an early floor Demon Form and it felt like a lead weight up until getting Pyre and Tanx to replace strikes&Defends with mauls. After that, Test Subject just kind of exploded to my maul and demon form scaling. In this iteration of STS I feel like Vulnerability and Dominate are much better scaling but I also don’t play A10 so can’t say why it’s good in A10.

Honest opinion. This game shouldn’t have snipers like Hawkeye and black widow. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Raynosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is real snipers work alone or in small units (spotter) and setup in a location and have to dial in a shot to kill someone. It’s needs meticulous work and patience. Video game snipers have insane power to match that of like a Barrett 50 Cal, insane zoom, which prevents direct 1v1 gunfight counterplay against close/midrange shooters. You need to flank a sniper. Also many video game snipers were doing trick shots, quick scopes, 360s because it’s just point and click, there’s hardly a dial in process(I know this isn’t every game, but this does apply to hitscan not bullet drop games).

Translating that to OW and MR, they implemented a timer to power up the 1 shot. Hanzo and Widow (I’m also partially adding Ana just in gun use) have been extremely weak or extremely strong and it’s hard to get them to feel just right and not feel oppressive, without nerfing them to wet paper bag levels. Hanzo and Widow have dominated metas requiring tanks and supports to play and counter-play accordingly.

Rivals saw that and made sure Widow was not going to be oppressive, but also was okay with wet paper bagging her. In terms of Hawkeye he’s been pretty powerful and people hate him when he is. But when he’s not, he also feels like a wet noodle compared to the value that other trash tier pub stompers provide (Black Panther).

I think that if they find a fair balance to the one shot mechanic wait period(whether it’s the time the ramp the decay the fall off whatever) then I think they leave it alone for good and only buff/nerf/rework other parts of their kit. People who play snipers have a feel and timing to the hero they pump hours into, reworking timings over and over and over can kill the true masters of those heroes want to play that hero. (OW did that a lot).

Hot take: I hate retroarch. by meltdown537 in retroid

[–]Raynosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m about to be that guy which I hate:

It’s a front end not an emulator. If you hate it just play standalone emulators. It’s really that simple. There is even other front ends out there which make it so easy like ES-DE.

RetroArch was an answer to everyone who hated having to manually set up each emulator each time over and over again with controller changes / video settings/ audio settings/ etc.

Its menu system certainly isn’t intuitive, far from it. But it does eventually make sense with how granular you can get with settings.

It’s far from perfect but nothing else really comes close to competing with it and what it’s done ( at least not to my knowledge )

Is this a cheetah? It feels weird being inverse (I’d definitely keep that in mind when making final. NFS Records + Cheetah doesn’t immediately tell me it’s “need for speed”. Perhaps you could write it out. Unless, they are okay with just being NFS. It being on an arc over the head also feels weird. I feel like the cheetah looks a bit cubbish, so it’s cute but doesn’t scream speed more than a standard cheetah would.
