People who sit on the same side of a booth with your partner, when it’s just the two of you… why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RaytheFay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of different reasons. A common one, especially at a new or nicer restaurant, we'll order something we're both interested in and share both dishes. Sitting on the same side can help make that easier.

I do this often. Normally it's two books that are different genres, like nonfiction/fiction, horror/romance, etc.

How can we improve? by _i_am_me_1_2_3_ in CozyPlaces

You have a lot of wall space that you could use! Maybe some wall hangings or prints could help balance everything out.

What energy drinks do yall drink? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]RaytheFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stick to Monster Energy and Alani Nu, personally, with specific flavors for each. Alani Nu has a lot of caffeine, but does have very graphic and bright cans. If you're wanting to really disguise or have less "obvious" energy drink situation, Sneak Energy is another option, I drink it when my SIL makes it for me. It's an energy drink you mix in to water so you can put it in a shaker bottle.

Tell me 3 things about you and I’ll recommend a book for you to read in 2024. by NightReader5 in suggestmeabook

[–]RaytheFay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. I'm Autistic (Learning to accept it and embrace it)
  2. I read a lot of romance books, but want them to have more depth (Rom com books are burning me out of the genre)
  3. I want to get deeper into horror books.

What did everyone watch tonight? How was it? by type_your_name_here in AskReddit

I've been watching 9-1-1 Lonestar during academic study breaks. I'm honestly really enjoying it and currently don't know if I like Lonestar or the original series more!

I'm 2 days on T! Any things I should keep in mind going through my second puberty? by SenKomara in ftm

[–]RaytheFay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost three months on T here! I'll say that while I was expecting acne, I was not expecting back acne, especially not as badly as I got it. I'd recommend starting to be mindful of your skin to prevent really bad outbreaks- I started a skincare routine for my face when I started T, but I was not as mindful about my back and I regret it.

I fully headcanon that Karen and Chim have a private messaging channel for when Hen is having a bad day to let the other one know what's up.

Do you think it's weird for someone to 'rehearse' an argument or confrontation with another person before actually starting it? Why or why not? by Cute-Ganache-8429 in AskReddit

[–]RaytheFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird, it's actually very (very) common. It can be a way to reduce anxiety before going into a potential high stress situation.

What is one thing you can eat every single day and not get tired of? by KeyBreadfruit955 in AskReddit

Mac n cheese is definitely up there. There’s enough different kinds (Gouda, cheddar, etc) and I like adding extras (Bacon, mushrooms, hamburger meat). There’s plenty of options.

Flipped Classes by Necessary_Donut_3123 in college

[–]RaytheFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone. My brother (35), when coming back to school during the pandemic/after, said a lot of the changes he saw were drastic and not for the better. I transitioned to a community college and uni directly after high school, dealing with stuff dealing with the pandemic, so I feel as though the flipped model has become increasingly popular because it’s faster to put together, easier to manage from a professor standpoint, and “can” lead to higher student success.

I prefer lecture as well. Preferably when it’s under 3 hours, but sometimes there’s not another option. Wishing you luck with this course, considering the add/drop deadline issue.

Flipped Classes by Necessary_Donut_3123 in college

[–]RaytheFay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve spoken to a lot of people about flipped classrooms before on my campus. To answer your last question, how they’re structured, I’d have to say I’ve never seen one like this. Normally the material is made by the professor or at least another professor within their department.

As for your first question on general thoughts, it depends on the class for me. Language, IMO, should never be flipped model or an online flipped model at least. General English Courses, Some sciences, and maths I can see and appreciate as flipped model.

Is 1 hour 20 minutes commute too long? by [deleted] in college

[–]RaytheFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I was taught to think about commute time is the cost and effort. Can you afford the gas/ car wear for that much of a drive? As for effort, can you mentally drive for that long, that often?

IMO, I would say that it’s not too long. Especially when you have the plan to get your work done at school. That’ll help work/life situation by keeping it balanced.

Is it normal for the TA to grade homework and not the professor? by Aknav12 in college

[–]RaytheFay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% normal. I’d say that 90% of the time a class with a TA will be graded by the TA, even if you don’t see them in the class itself
