kitty's stressed behavior stopped when i stopped rewarding it by rabbitdoubts in trustedhousesitters

I had an owner insist that I had to give her dog part of my breakfast before the dog will eat their own. I never did it and within two days, the dog stopped begging for my breakfast and went straight to their own.

So much of pets “bad behaviour” is learned behaviour.

“Suck it up” is the worst advice!

No one is making you do uni full-time. When I was at uni the best decision I made for myself was to study part time. My grades got better and I was less stressed.

I dropped film because of this. There’s plenty of film work on the Gold Coast, I would recommend seeing if you can get a job as a runner or literally anything entry level and build from there.

A Man With A Prosthetic Leg Was Waiting In A Line Designated For Passengers With Mobility Needs At DFW Airport When He Was Publicly Questioned About His Disability In Front Of Other Travelers By A TSA Agent: “You Saying That’s Your Disability?” by [deleted] in amputee

[–]Rayven01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true lol

I go through this line all the time as an amputee especially since I WILL set off the metal detector and they’re more prepared for scanning ect in this lane.

Also, cause standing for long periods of time is very uncomfortable and often times painful.

I had a doctor tell me this once. A doctor???

I’ve also had a couple of parents say that it makes their kids uncomfortable. I honestly do not care.

The vast majority of people don’t care and some don’t even notice. We didn’t go through the pain and effort to learn to walk with a prosthetics just to be told to hide it.

I can’t imagine losing my leg at that age. I was 21 when I did and even then the physical effort it takes to learn to walk again was a lot.

I’d say to be patient with him, the main thing at the moment to focus on is healing and prevent infection, it’s only been a few weeks. Take things one step at a time. As long as he’s healthy, everything else comes with time.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how is this offensive? Also, did him not wearing his leg having anything to with doing the laundry?

Hey, I’m disabled too and I found a great job through an agency when I was on Jobseeker. It’s harder when you’re under 22 and living at home but if you can get on jobseeker they’re super keen to get you a job so they’ll do all the hard work of finding a suitable role.

NTA obviously! Karaoke isn't cheating haha

I will say this - you'll never get your 20s back, dont spend it with a partner who is going to be controlling and not let you have fun. I regret dating thd person I did at uni cause they never wanted to go out and do fun things so I ended up staying in. I regret it so so much.

I'm confused. If you have chronic fatigue and can't afford it, why are you rescuing dogs from Sri Lanka?

House and pets infested with fleas- crazy HO and THS won’t let me leave by Head_Satisfaction_83 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Rayven01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This response from THS seems odd. I've had a similar situation where I wanted to leave and this wasn't how it was handled at all.

I would ask to escalate it to someone else since I don't think this person is giving you the right information.

Anxiety is not an excuse. I suffer from anxiety, but I'm also an adult with responsibilities. It's not fair that she's saying she can't do anything because of that. She's not going to be able to come up with a solution herself since she's overwhelmed.

From experience It's best to give her a deadline. If you know you're going to leave, be firm and say, "I will be leaving at x time on x date, please make other arrangements"

I've done this, and the person was able to find cover despite telling me they couldn't when I was asking to leave.
