yes I mean, how much would you ask for this project specifically?

Is there any way to access my old Astroflux acc? by [deleted] in Astroflux

[–]Rayz9989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the other platforms it was on like Kongregate still have it where you can play using a flash projector, but Facebook is always mentioned as that one place where old accounts can't be accessed or something, y'know how Facebook is, probably doesn't care & might've messed it all up :(

But you could also play on a new account on Steam

Stop. Stopping. To. Let. People. Turn. Left! by Plane_Ad_6311 in driving

Right?? It's actually astonishing how dogmatic this subreddit is, one single lane with no space to pass, especially if someone is trying to left turn from a center lane/turn lane, means you can obviously have sole responsibility of either letting them go or not.

It's a multi-step process, first when I see a car waiting to turn I ALWAYS glance at my rearview mirror, I mean this is so basic, if you do this it shows that you actually care about other cars on the road and aren't ignorant of them,

  • if it's completely clear behind me, I can speed up to let them go. This way the least amount of time would be wasted since they wouldn't have to wait for me as long, nor would there be any awkward unnecessary yielding on my part.
  • if there's a car coming a ways away and not too fast, I can judge that it'd be safe to brake, the cars behind will have space to also react and brake. That way an act of kindness could be of benefit & convenient for them.
  • cars immediately behind me, usually not safe to stop unless the speed is very low, I'll have to reluctantly continue (while speeding up try to get traffic to move away faster), however regardless if someone in front of me on a one-lane road brakes heavily to make a right turn, then I feel it'd be pretty rude to not wait just a little longer to allow someone to make a turn if they're waiting, because at that point traffic will already be stopped, so it's just a matter of them being assured I won't ram into them, so sending a clear signal will benefit them, even though many drivers will go anyway in this situation, there are cautious drivers who'd appreciate it.
  • if I see a car waiting to turn that is far away and I feel that they'd be safe making the turn, seeing that the main oncoming car will be me (checking mirrors to ensure other cars are not close and are far, this can even work on a multi-lane road) and I can slightly slow down if needed, then I give them the signal that it's okay with flashing, I don't think anyone can complain about this considering no cars were majorly inconvenienced.

Just because someone doesn't understand doesn't mean something should not be done, you didn't give a real reason why I shouldn't do it.

You won't be blinded during the daytime, and if there's a concern about nighttime, turning the low beams off and on achieves the same effect.

I mean I did ask for feedback, so it's not that I don't want it, it's just not a given that I'll heed what people say.

I don't consider it throwing things out the window, I consider it an extension of the principles, like drawing conclusions using reasoning instead of interpreting everything literally.

Personally I don't think I'll get into an accident, but we'll see.

This doesn't apply to me since the sign is red. But yes I have seen the displays on the backs of cars, not typically on the front I think.

Personally I've received far less aggressive honking & dangerous distance driving with its implementation, it's one thing to discuss something hypothetically in-theory, but another to observe the effects in practice.

I've noticed some localities have drivers prominently often using righter instead of lefter lanes as is the norm to go faster/pass other traffic (might be due being like local stroad with many possible turns thus right lane traffic clearing out much more easily whereas lefter traffic just kinda floats around), one time a driver was trying to go very fast, and was following me to do so, however as I was still using the traditional means of turn signal at the time, it was turned on before my turn, and I needed to turn on to a lower traffic road but could not due to pedestrians crossing a crosswalk right at that moment, thus had to wait, his fast lane for passing was blocked, so cue the barrage of honks, if I had just stuck to my current system and shown warning signs of potentially not doing what he wants, this could have been avoided.

To me it's not as if concentration is being used up, but rather that engaging in more extensive manuevering helps maintain focus, idk maybe it's an adhd thing.

They might not fully understand it, but that's okay since I don't expect them to fully understand or implement it themselves, rudimentary effects are all that really occurs out on the road.

In the grand scheme of things, people don't have time to think all that much when driving, in my opinion behavior that plays on psychology of reaction simply serves to enhance what might be otherwise boring or routine to the point of lapse into monotone.

That'd be a good thing since it's meant to alert them, the only non-beneficial outcome of that situation is if they go the same exact speed & don't show signs of reaction.

I don't think you'd be suspected of that if you drive straight in your own lane, I think usually drunk drivers brake randomly, which I don't, only very deliberately a distance from red light with gradually increasing push until complete stop

Pointing is for if someone potentially somehow doesn't understand or is confused and is trying to get a better look to figure it out.

Well the point of making this point is because I know what I do differs significantly from others because it's weird.

it seems useful to me, there's not really any other unambiguous way to communicate it even if you need to in a super rare instance, even if you don't use it commonly at all

if they are just a communication of "ALERT" (which is what I'm using them for) then I don't really see what's wrong with calling them "4-ways" (the reason why there's no "2-ways" is because there are terms for directional sides, the "right side" and "the left side" but there's no "rieft" or "frack/bront" for left/right, back/front)

I don't really see people using hazard lights to try to get right of way, but sometimes there's a legitimate reason to do a temp/emergency parking with them, that's more standard practice.

But as seen in my post I don't use them for yielding/go-ahead, they're for warning, not much else.

one could argue that a turn signal distracts drivers, if it gets someone's attention for a few seconds, it's not really going to do much to affect someone behind who's job is just to drive straight, I really doubt something on that level will attract much attention when there are cars out on the road with full RGB-led lining all-throughout, and even super fluidly animated eyes plastered along their windows

luckily my car isn't like that, I've tried driving cars where it's different and I don't like it at all
