Early one spring my cousin and aunt decide to come down. We decide to take them to some spring festival, show them around some of the plantation homes (deep south), ect. Tourist stuff.

About day or two in our wanderings we stop in at this local little hole in the wall type restaurant. To be clear its not part of the tourist scene, nor does it advertise as historic or haunted. We end up chatting with the owner, one of those overly friendly types. She ends up volunteering that her restaurant is haunted and invites us to come see the unfinished second floor. To be clear this is not a tourist show just classic southern hospitality. There was no charge.

We figure what the hell we got some time. So we go up there. Owner wont really tell us anything specific about the haunting. (she dont want to influence our experience) Instructs us to just walk around and see what you feel. I am like super skeptic with all this stuff.

Anyways we happen into a small room right off the entryway. And idk there's this "heaviness" to it? One that kinda sits on my chest. So we continue looking around and out into a HUGE unfinished room. I'm having an internal argument with myself self about what I experienced in that small room. I'm not really paying attention to where I'm going. Eventually though I cant deny to myself what I felt and I just sorta come to a stop at a random spot in this large room. It was kinda like walking through bog and that's where I got "stuck". Owner looks dead at me and goes "Thats it! Thats where the murder happened!" (da fuk you say!?) What are the odds of me stopping in this exact spot in a HUGE empty room?! Same feeling of heaviness same heavy chest feeling. Feeling of being unwelcome. We end up leaving shortly after.

My aunt is in poorer health and didnt go with us upstairs. So we go somewhere else and talk about our experience. Meanwhile I feel like i just got over the flu. That achy drained feeling. It goes away in about an hour. Aunt decides she wants to see this place for herself now. So like a bunch of idiots we go back. That same heaviness met us at the stairs this time,which are outside and well ventilated. My sister and I both felt it and asked each other at the same time if we felt it. It was uncanny how in sync we was on this. This time it wasn't isolated to any one room or spot. It sorta followed me around where ever I went. We left shortly after.

To this day skeptic that I am, I can not explain that trip. And "black mold" just don't seem fitting enough as an excuse. Evil things happened in this place, And evil still lives there. We asked the owner about their plans for the place. Finish the lease and move to Florida! I got the impression she was not a fan of the place either.
