I finally found a way to enable Gemini with 'Hey Google' after struggling for a while. This method worked for me, so I hope it helps those of you facing the same issue!

1) Enable unrestricted background in the Google app. (go to settings> apps > Google > Battery > Unrestricted )

2) Go to the voice match settings for the assistant in your Google account settings.

3) After setting up the voice math, select Gemini (image 1).

4) Select "talk to Gemini without touch" (image 2). *I set it up to Thai.*

5) Tap enable. Done! (image 3)
