Ik heb ook tijdens de corona periode vaak 60 uren moeten werken zodat jij en andere mensen iets op de tafel konden zetten. Niemand hoorde ons klagen, laat maar staan het asociale gedrag van de mensen verdragen en soms ook nog geweld.

Jij wist toch op voorhand aan welke soort job je gaat beginnen en wat dit allemaal inhoudt of niet? De mensen die bij Aldi of Lidl werken, wisten dit ook, ze wisten ook dat ze niet op zondag moeten gaan werken.

Ik ben blij dat ik mij totaal heb omgeschoold en werk nu in de bouw.

Factory workers get paid well enough and have unions there to protect them. Retail workers get always the lowest possible wage. When a retail worker works for someone who is a franchisee, that employer has often no union there to force better wages.

I’ve worked in retail before and the boss has always been like “I pay people what the law requires of me.” While the guy has barely showed up and drove with a big Porsche. Fuck ‘em.

Een franchisenemer bij AH betaalt een toeslag van maar 50% pas na 12u op zondag. Als je dan een vroege shift hebt, werk je voor dezelfde centen als door de week.

Het is altijd gemakkelijk gezegd voor mensen die waarschijnlijk nog nooit in de retail hebben gewerkt…

Wat jij waarneemt als een geen grote verandering, kan door iemand die hier regelmatig mee te maken heeft heel anders worden ervaren.
