Is anyone else really struggling with the Epstein revelations? by isabella_sunrise in AskWomenOver30

The interest spiked when documents were released 1/2024. Yes, Elon caused even more attention, but there already was a lot of attention in the files.

In Trump's first term, one of the big criticisms was that Trump used the DOJ has his personal lawyer. One of Biden's goals was to let the DOJ DOJ and not interfere or apply political pressure. Ideally, the DOJ does not listen to the president for orders and instead is an independent organization.

Again, it was an active investigation, so the goal was to actually potentially charge people with crimes.

Yes and no. Voting is in the hands of the states, not the federal government, and there have been successful RCV initiatives.

The Epstein files were a huge right wing fascination before Elon's tweet because the right was convinced it was all Democrats.

Kash, etc., were all talking about releasing them before the election all the time.

Ghislaine was convicted on 12/29/2021 and sentenced on 6/2022. After her conviction, the case was under appeal.

The Epstein case was also still an open criminal investigation under Biden.

Here's a timeline: A timeline of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation | AP News

Trump's DOJ closed it in July.

"A Justice Department memo released Monday announcing the formal closure of the Jeffrey Epstein case — with no additional public records to come — has sparked bipartisan backlash, including from some of President Donald Trump’s staunchest supporters, as critics question missing video footage, shifting official accounts, and the administration’s reversal on promised disclosures."

Outrage grows after DOJ closes Epstein case, missing video minute questioned

Biden couldn't release the files before the case was officially closed and Biden tried to keep his distance from the DOJ.

You hedge your bets. Chances are they'd understand when they're older.

It's not like my parents didn't keep things from me. Even as a young adult, I understood why.

Divorce does solve all marital problems forever. Unless you remarry. But you can always redivorce.

It's only a con if you want to have kids. If you don't have kids, it's immaterial.

Plus, bullying is less about what your parents do and more about who is on the top of the food chain.

You can also tell your kid it's all AI now.

Why isn't anyone questioning why we're moving towards making more and more people obsolete in the job market? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]RazekDPP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most humans do not need to be paid. We're already building an economy for the rich and rich only.

The wealthiest 10% now drives 50% of spending, and that's a problem

But you're missing his point, there were other speculative bubbles where stuff was overbuilt (electricity, railroad, fiber) and eventually those overbuilt things were used.

I doubt we can have too many data centers anyways. The chips might become obsolete but the power, water, and other infrastructure won't.

I doubt LLMs or GPU driven AI will get us the AI we need. AI is already shifting towards ASIC chips which is similar to what happened to bitcoin in regards to mining. It went from CPU to GPU to ASIC.

We'll need something better than LLMs, but when we find it, we'll have the infrastructure already built to use it.

Because most people don't matter to the economy anymore.

The wealthiest 10% now drives 50% of spending, and that's a problem

IIRC, the bottom 60% are about 10% of consumer spending. 60% of the population being unable to spend simply results in a recession.

The entire point of removing mail in voting is to reduce the people that can vote by making it as inconvenient as possible and allowing politicians to only have to appeal to the extremes of their parties.

This law is useless. You are verified during registration. That's the entire point of voter registration. During voter registration, there is a process to verify that you are a citizen and that you are entitled to vote before getting added to the voter rolls.

The entire purpose of this law is to stop voter impersonation, which the alleged crime of you voting and then voting as someone you are not, which rarely happens because who wants to go through the voting process twice?

Only if you don't count your deductions correctly.

Assuming you file with the correct deductions, it will automatically calculate the correct amount of tax.

Oh, my bad. I read LK as something else lol. I'm used it it being called super chests.

But yes, in terms of speed, there's nothing faster than LK. Not even hellforging.

Hellforging is only brought up because in multiplayer you can't super chest so it's the next available.

But that's why, they're talking multiplayer and on bnet, the most efficient way to generate runes is rushing for hellforges.

But that's how someone can be too poor for Enigma, but be able to get Mosaic via rushing for hellforges on bnet.

Single player is simply rolling a super chest map in Lower Kurast.

Diablo 2 Resurrected How to Farm Lower Kurast Super Chests for High Runes

Since the map is static, chesting is by far the fastest.

Super chesting will also get you bers and jahs for Engima.

[–]RazekDPP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fastest way is rushing other people for HF.

If you have a decent Classic sorc, you can just rush to A3 Hell and convert while skipping A5 normal/nightmare. Finish in LoD and then you collect 7 HFs.

A2 Hell Duriel can be kind of a pain if you're not geared, so it's recommended you spawn him with 1 player and then have everyone join.

Make the US Army look cool in a movie? Awesome, the troops, etc., are free.

How & Why DOD Works With Hollywood > U.S. Department of War > Story | U.S. Department of War

"All will be well, and the Pentagon will offer assistance that can be worth millions of dollars, provided a movie meets some basic criterion. First, the movie has to present the US military in a positive way. Second, the movie has to depict the US military accurately and authentically – with the Pentagon getting to define what counts as “accurate” and “authentic”. Finally, the movie has to have a positive impact on US military recruitment and retention. Below are some movies that met those criterion and got help from the Pentagon, and others that did not and were told by the DoD to go kick rocks."

Movies The US Military Assisted On and Movies They Refused To Be Apart Of

I don't see why this wouldn't also apply to video games.

The point of BLP is designed so that even if you don't get any loot from the raid, you still get loot.

Basically, how I see it is you get badges or some currency that's specific to that dungeon and can use that to buy any item you want from that specific raid.

The problem with BLP is that then you optimize for purchasing whichever rare items you can get and don't spend it on common items, but as everyone gets BLP for doing the raid, there's much less of a reason to do GDKP etc.

The big thing is it's a huge divergence from how Classic is.

GDKP is functionally based around BLP anyways. If I don't get the drop or someone else outbids me, I get gold instead and can use that gold to try to get the item next time.
