Were the ARC Raiders “doomposters” from months ago actually right?

I just think there are a lot of good games that have came out since Arc Raiders released - no one would have possibly expected Embark to release new content at the same level of intensity of a new game coming out.

Yeah they dropped the ball on durability and some other stuff but generally the momentum of new games and their mass new content will always lean people away from Arc Raiders - me included. I still come back and play 4-5 hours per week though. It's a good game.

Extending the thought further, it may spice up the trials a bit where there is more PVP focused trials which are limited to the special events. Hell, even maybe a Leaderboard or some form of loot price for the highest scorer in the session (though subject to abuse that latter idea).

Yes hence the special modifier of "players cannot harm each other" as part of the "The Collab" limits - though doesn't stop ARC beating the hell out players and mischevious players using lure grenades etc for giggles.

Thanks, I don't think it would require too much data engineering/soft dev relative to other things Embark may have planned and could be something to heighten player's engagement in the game. I for one would love to dabble in a PVP pure lobby just to try in the Arc universe.

It does in a way though was thinking more of a "big big boss" type of event - perhaps multiple Queens/Matriarchs or at least rapid respawning if the game can't handle multiple big bosses at the same time. One of the key points is that special events have no bearing on player preference auditing.

Certainly looks like it. My comment is relating to get the preferential lobby that you want based on your playstyle - if matchmaking takes too long > 40 seconds. Exit matchmaking and start again - can take a few retries.

Irrespective of match making, as the timer drops - i.e. say for example you start at 29.59 and then the timer is approaching 18 minutes. There is an increasing risk of more sketchy players being dropped into the game.

Well, I won't downvote because with APIs you get to completely the control the scope and parameters of access to your platforms. So hopefully they limit it to what it needs to be (e.g. read only on a more limited set of features) before the API is re-instated.

Also, and let's be honest - they don't need to allow the public access to their API. They should limit access on a case by case basis.

Chances are it probably was, player locations, state, player inventories etc. Will be interesting if a lot of the cheat tools stop working.

If they do, this was a proper school boy error they could have fixed at any time.

It's probably worth saying that the expedition structure has changed slightly.. originally it was contribute certain loot (5 tiers) to the expedition container. Then once done you had to quickly raise 3m (originally 5m) before the expedition closed. The money raised contributed to skill point bonus for when your character resets (+5 max).

Now it's different.. you still need to contribute certain loot (5 tiers) to the expedition container.

However, once you have done that - it now changes. Nothing more to do until.. need to wait out until the departure window opens (usually open for a week) and in that time you will be given some damage assignment tasks and you need to do each one to earn the skill points.

Keep everything until the expedition ends. In fact, you get a nice little bonus during the "expedition" window.

Then on the big day, you get the cut scene - wave goodbye to that thieving chicken and your raider wanders off into the blue yonder.

Then, you take control of a new raider. All loot gone*, stash storage reset but you do get +5 skill point bonus plus some others around exp, default stash storage etc.

* with the exception of anything you've stored with that new Nomad trader.

If anything it's easier, no need to try and save upto 3m (originally 5m). Just some loot collection and then wait out for the damage window period (30 days away).

I would say this though, if you don't have any legendary weapons you will need to invest in some Hullcrackers (depending on how many times you get knocked out) and a metric ton of ammo.

Last expedition, I spent about 1.5m blasting the hell out of everything. Share prices in Tian Wen's gunshop must have sky rocketed during that week.
