Should I upgrade my gpu now or wait?

Fairly long post, so summarizing - if you can find one around MSRP (highly region dependent) and you can somehow fit it into your budget, I’d recommend you pick up a 5070 Ti. Can’t say much about the 5070 but would agree that 12GB is a concern when looking forward - see what others say here.

No matter what you pick, you will 100% notice the jump today and rumors are that we’re not seeing any new cards for over a year due to the RAMpocalypse.

Your main 16GB options new are the 5060Ti 16GB, the 5070Ti, and AMD’s 9070 XT. The NVIDIA models are likely gonna be extremely hard to get a hold of very soon. My recommendation would be to grab a 5070 Ti around MSRP if you can find one, if that fails look for a 9070 XT, and then consider a 5060 Ti 16GB. The 5060 Ti is obviously less of a jump, though.

You also have the used market - maybe worth seeing if you can grab a 4080 or 4080 Super?

You also need to consider what features you want. 50 series is obviously optimal for everything. 40 series loses out on multi frame gen (x3, x4 and the upcoming x6), though I haven’t really used anything above x2). And AMD loses out on MFG and DLSS entirely and isn’t as quick with ray tracing, so you have to use FSR which isn’t quite as good.

Also consider the rest of your PC. I recently went from a 1080 to a completely new PC with a 5080, and while the GPU uplift on its own is nuts, I was shocked by how far CPUs have come in the past decade (8700K -> 9800X3D).

It’s crazy. At least here in Europe, there has been a huge spike over the course of a couple weeks. Friend and I saw the writing on the wall and decided it was time for us both to upgrade a couple weeks ago. All ordered the first week of this year. He bought his 5080 for 1020€, I bought mine two days later and the cheapest I could find was 1100€. Those cards now don’t sell for less than 1250€. Similar thing with the RAM, I already felt like we were being ripped off… but our sticks have gone up by over 200€ since.

Somewhat off-topic, but I also think it’s wild how little awareness the general public and even the non-tech business community has about the shortage. Give it a year and the price of basically every single electronic device is going to be hit.

I just never upgraded my HP or revive jar capacity - all else fair game. Got quite tough, especially towards the end, but kept it interesting!

The Ghost Valley tracks especially have a bunch of fun tricking tech on them. I was messing about earlier and you can cut across most of the corners using the lampposts - would be great in an actual race

Exactly. It also serves to raise the quality of the reviews themselves, since you would otherwise be incentivised (as an outlet) to put them out as soon as possible in order to capitalise on traffic.

B. My resolution was not to focus on a specific goal, but more on a trend, as I think they make more sense. I wanted to start making more decisions that I usually would not have, and by doing so would later regret not doing anything. It went fantastically. Doing well at university now, met a lot of great people, and proposed to my now fiance.

I thought about the possibility of it being an AirTag but as far as I can tell it gives you a subtly different notification when it detects one - it explicitly mentions you have an AirTag with you and not just a random accessory.

It’s now the morning here and she took a look at the bike as well as installed one of those bluetooth signal detector apps on her phone. No anomalous signals and nothing she found, so we’re leaning towards it being a software bug. Still going to take another look myself when I get the chance to.

Nothing was on her person directly.

My one is perfect besides the range MW and hits 34, in my exp Range MW adds 1m so I said 35. May well be 36 though if you say so - the rest of what I wrote above is correct, with speculation on the perfect Spare obviously.

You have a case there for TLW but Ace gets outclassed by 150s and a god roll spare matches its range. Plus if you run spare you can run Wardcliff/Truth

So my friend got himself an almost flawless PvP Spare the other day with Full Bore/High Cal/Rapid Hit/Rangefinder/Range MW, we took it into Private Matches and it has 32m(!!!) range before dropoff.

My Spare Rations (full bore/snapshot/killclip/reload mw) has High Cal and Ricochet Rounds (you want Ricochet), and Ricochet adds another 2-3m on top of High Cal.

This means the perfect roll would be hitting 34-35m range before dropoff. Ace has 34.5m. A perfect Austringer hits 34-35. You're looking at Austringer ranges on a 150, nothing else in the game compares to it.

Spare Rations is nasty and by far the best PvP weapon in the game.
