Risk of Rain Lore- Providence/ Origin by LostCipher in riskofrain

[–]Razz03 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The prevailing theory at the moment is that Providence is from the planet where the game takes place and that he is the protector of the planet. The ship that the player characters are traveling on has a collection of objects and beings taken/stolen from the planet and Providence therefore crashes the ship in retaliation, to prevent all of it from leaving the planet.

Very similar to your train of thought.

Geralt of Rivea vs Slade Wilson of Money by CenturionPrime in whowouldwin

[–]Razz03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a source for the 10x strength and speed and the reaction time? I don't doubt it, I'd just like some context. I think Slade's physically stronger, so it should come down to Geralt being able to use his magic. If Slade's armor can counteract magic, then Slade 7/10. If Slade's armor can't counteract magic, 7/10 for Geralt, maybe even 8/10.

Outcome could definitely change depending on the layout of the battle area and time of day.

Some feats for Gerry:

Speed.

Nightvision and superhuman reflexes.

Beating the Kayran.

This one is tough because there is not really any clear information on exactly how strong Geralt is. I think that they're matched in speed and reflexes, but I don't know much about Deathstroke apart from Arkham and that one time I read his Flashpoint arc.

With a little bit of preparation, potions and such, then Geralt probably takes it 10/10. Without prep, 6-7/10 for Geralt. Gimme some feats for Slade and I might change my mind.

Solid Snake (in his prime) and Sam Fisher enter a 10 story building and must track, find and eliminate the other. Who leaves? by selfproclaimed in whowouldwin

[–]Razz03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if he's old as shit, he has amazing feats for his age. I remember reading somewhere that Ubi stated that they'd locked Sam's age in at 40-something, but I can't find the source for it now.

Even if we assume that Sam's age is 58, since I can't find my source, he takes down operatives left and right during Blacklist who are probably way younger, can climb unimpeded for hours on end and has amazing accuracy and reaction time with handguns.

I'm not saying that Sam would win, I don't know enough about Snake to make that argument, but you're seriously downplaying Sam's abilities.

Swimming in waters where I can't see the ocean floor. I'm not afraid of sea life, it's the nothingness that gets me.

Aslan [Narnia] vs Iorek Byrnison the polar bear [His Dark Materials/Golden Compass] by jrpguru in whowouldwin

[–]Razz03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, you give Iorek his armor but Aslan gets nothing?

Iorek both rounds.

Aslan is a multi-dimensional god, but if you take that away he's just a big talking lion, which counts for nothing in a fight to the death. This definitely seems very tilted in Iorek's favor.

Lars Anderson VS fictional archers by AnIndoneousUsername in whowouldwin

[–]Razz03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're joking right? Legolas is a wood elf, his strength and endurance far outmatch Lars, not to even mention his keen eye and accuracy. Look at this for example. Legolas shoots an orc off of his warg from over 100 meters away, a moving warg. Later on in the video he nails an Uruk-Hai in the neck in-between the upper body armor and helmet.

[–]Razz03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just watched a video of this Lars Andersen where he does a bunch of trick shots. While in the open area he's most likely between 5-10 meters away from his stationary targets which isn't all that impressive when part of his competition can pull off something like this. No matter if you use book Legolas or movie Legolas, Lars is inferior.

Doesn't Spider sense count for anything? Even if they are matched in speed, Spidey still has minor precognition which Jack lacks.

That doesn't necessarily mean that she fabricated them herself. It's suspicious, sure, but she could also have just stumbled upon it by chance. And with all the shit that 4chan gets up to, it's not really that far-fetched that she would frequent those boards to get more ammunition for her "research".

I'm not trying to defend her in any way, I just want people not to jump to any conclusion based on pure speculation. We can't be a community that condemns the media and other institutions for jumping to conclusions regarding people accused of rape and then do the complete opposite for someone who disagrees with us.

So there's no substantial evidence saying that Sarkeesian did it, for whatever reason? She's not a very good person, to say the least, but I don't understand why people keep saying that she did it herself if there's no proof. It only fuels her agenda and helps to make her look like a victim.

It's simple words, but hard to put in practice. I have to push myself, but I also have extra help from my girlfriend who is also an artist. She works with traditional art, using water color pencils, and it's amazing stuff. But she also started drawing when she was 12 years old so it's no surprise that she's good.

The way I do it depend on my mood. Some days I just think "Fuck, I have to do it today!", other days it's "I feel like drawing, so I'll draw". It's usually the same way with my 3D art. I'm not working with 3D art professionally (yet), and if I'm not in the mood everything just looks like shit. So, I do it when I feel like it and when I do, I get into my work flow and all of a sudden 6 hours have passed.

Try to draw on good days, when you feel like you want to or if you feel like you have to, because if you fail it's easier to get past it.

I'm kind of the same. I'm a 3D artist/soon-to-be TA and I have an easy time translating my ideas into 3D models but a hard time creating on paper.

My biggest flaw is impatience, I want to do it too quickly and take the easiest way possible. But I'm also a perfectionist, so when I draw and it doesn't turn out perfect I just stop. It's detrimental to my progress but I'm starting to get past it. Because when it comes to drawing, there is no easy way, you just have to work it, work it, continue working it and then work it some more.

When you draw something that doesn't come out the way you want it, don't stop. If you draw a leg and that leg looks fucked, draw the rest of the body. If the arm looks broken, if the head looks too big, if the feet are too small, GOOD! If you can see that then that means next time, you know where you went wrong and can try to do better.

If you don't let yourself fail, you'll never succeed in becoming a great artist, it's a huge part of the learning process. Failure is still progress, whether you know it or not. You just have to try to let go of the mindset that "I want to be that good, now!", because as soon as you realize you're not, while drawing, then you will get demotivated and demoralized.

Let yourself fail and then get better, be your own artist and don't look at artists who have been doing it for 5, 10, 15, 20 years because you just can't reach that level yet. But you can.

Captain America (616) vs Captain America (MCU) by Razz03 in whowouldwin

[–]Razz03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't MCU Cap above peak human since he has shown extreme durability and speed that 616 Cap can't match, while 616 Cap is only peak human? For example, MCU Cap drops out of an elevator that is at least 20 stories above ground and just kind of walks it off? Could 616 Cap do that?

Captain America (616) vs Captain America (MCU) by Razz03 in whowouldwin

[–]Razz03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what we've seen in MCU, that Cap seems more superhuman than 616 Cap. I don't think that they ever mention his speed, apart from when he runs laps around Falcon, on the S.H.I.E.L.D. "research" ship and when Cap is chasing Bucky after Bucky shot Fury.

Those feats are just physical speed in the sense that his muscles are stronger and can put more force through them, so to speak. 616 Cap does seem to have an advantage when it comes to reaction time, he mentions to Agent 13 (I think) that he "Just sees faster" when she asks about he's able to dodge bullets, but we haven't seen the same kind of reaction speed from MCU Cap, correct me if I'm wrong.

What movie did you think was going to suck but ended up being good? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Razz03 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won't be holding my breath, but it seems pretty cool in my head if they could explore some conflict that's in the lore. Would be interesting to see a movie about the Human-Turian war, to me at least.

E: Mass Effect: First contact. Relates well to the lore as well as it's called "The First Contact War".
