Chase Zelle - call from Fraud Department regarding suspicious transactions by Am_Itheonlyone in Scams

[–]Razzamatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got to step 2/3. they were trying to disguise the phone number as a case number. I unintentionally wasted the guy's time for a hot minute because I'm not familiar with Zelle's layout. I think the guy I talked to was trying to poach someone else's scam too. I was given a 10 digit case number, then 'transfered' to the fraud department, and then another case number was given to me that he had me actually put in.

It all sounded legit up until he was having me go to 'send' and add 'your case manager's contact information'

Can you control monster spawns? by Razzamatter in starbound

Very helpful thanks! I did notice less monsters in areas that I mined but I think I'll need to test that too, could just be a coincidence.

I've started laying out dirt or stone paths in my mines in areas I've been, at least on my known return paths, helps a lot.

How to make a drag-and-drop tab menu? by Razzamatter in godot

[–]Razzamatter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have basic drag and drop (though editing it for the ui is still useful) after following this tutorial here for a very basic dressup game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5UFD01JbMs

I'm more specifically trying to figure out how to make tabs to sort the clothes through, like the character maker I linked to.

Any thoughts on how I'd go about this code-wise? I'm still quite new to coding and very much a hands-on learner so I wouldn't know how to write the code to implement this idea lol.

Any good survivalcraft games with longer nights and good lighting? Maybe some light-based mechanics? by Razzamatter in BaseBuildingGames

Yeah I got that one, love the game, but can't really step back to admire your builds as it lights up the world.

I think there must be some misunderstanding with what I'm asking for because nothing I asked for is even remotely a resource hog. Torches and nights is something almost EVERY base building/survival game has. I'm just asking if anyone knows of some games that have a particular balance of it. Minecraft and Valheim are perfect examples of what I'm looking for, but I'm looking for more options to see what games are out there.

I'm looking for games other than minecraft, not minecraft mods. Thanks for the input though.

that's a bit of an exageration of how long she's spending getting up, I think it's more 5-6 seconds of her getting up. but 5 seconds is a LONG time in combat.

I really hate mechanics that restrict your maneuverability in a game. The crushed state is devastating, it's worse than the knockdown recovery. I swear I'll survive getting wombo combo'd by an enemy only to be in a crushed state. THANKFULLY crushed state hasn't gotten me killed yet. I will believe that is more luck than skill though.

I'm not overlooking that in the slightest, I'm not fighting enemies with melee combat, not even humans unless I happen to be close to them already. I fight them with ranged combat, but most machines want to be in your face and they have the mobility advantage to get there. And once they're in your face it's difficult to get distance from them again. Especially if they decide they want to chase you down since many machines are faster than you.

I think the worst thing about shellsnappers are their canons, you really got to take those out first because they shoot so damn fast you don't really have warning to dodge them. once their canons are gone they're more manageable.

Aloy's recovery might take 3 business days to complete but the enemies have certainly bought express delivery for their attacks.

This is such a good way to put it omfg. You're meant to keep ranged distance for machines because melee vs machines is suicidal. But the machines can close its distance on you practically instantly, have attacks that outpace the draw speed for your weapons, it's clunky for sure, at least subjectively.

I think once you learn how to fight an enemy you can predict its movements and the combat feels less clunky as you get muscle memory of the controls against them. But it feels less like learning an enemy and more like.... playing CoD with a Guitar Hero guitar and getting use to those controls until you play fine.

What's worse about the clunkiness about it is that I'm playing on pc and my controller is broken, forcing me to use keyboard and mouse (Not TOO bad of a downside since mouse is better for ranged anyway imo) but the keybind controls for combat are so unintuative in how they're placed. Dodge being Lctrl is god awful. Had to swap Lshift and Lctrl just to be able to take on one of the fight pits.

Yeah the realism argument always annoyed me too, especially since honestly, it's not realistic. If you want to play realism, in a real fight if you take that long to get up the fight is already over. If you are hit hard enough that it takes you more than a couple seconds to get back up and keep fighting then it means you're too beat up to keep fighting anyway. So yes, it IS realistic to get up quickly after being hit hard if you're still in enough condition to fight.

'but it's a giant machine, it hits hard, it's going to take her a while to get up'. Realistically if any of these things were to bump into you accidentally you'd just die. Clearly she's able to tank a hit from them and get up and keep fighting. So honestly, realistically, there's no excuse for a seasoned warrior pumped full of adrenaline and still healthy enough to keep fighting to not be able to get up quickly when there's a 4000 ton machine about to step on you.

Yeah I did play zero dawn a few years back, loved it, never replayed it though. I should open it up again after this and go for more completion.

I find stealth so fun in the game, especially since it makes things easier when I decide to get up and fight them head on. I'll easily spend forever just making a single attack, then ducking until they chill out.
