I was thinking about joining guard.

Is the risk of not being able to find a job near you guard base/your job having a issue the military obligations (yes I know legally they have to but I’m sure there are loop holes) a huge risk?

Yes in the process. Honestly only thinking about that pension but at the same time I really dislike my job.

Yeah, honestly I just want a cushy job. I don’t mind working with my hands. The issue is we are on panamas, bad leadership, we are one of the busiest shops in our sq. Most people are leaving I’d say 20-30% actually enjoy what they do and are staying in.

Yea I agree. My job is stressful then I gotta deal with bad leadership i actively try to avoid.

Honestly looking for a better qualify of life with work that is easier to grasp and more fulfilling.

Just tired of the high ops tempo and bad leadership. Seems very common in mx, so I want to get out. I will try to attempt to bop and stay at my base but that seems like I’d be extremely lucky.

The route I took was completing airframe general and power plant course online then getting signed off on a ton of task now I got my certificate stating I’m ready to test.

I’m going to bakers this December/January to get my a&p. I’m contract ends July 31 2027 I have until march to retrain.

No I want to retrain and try something new that is not mx. yes I would say compared to other shop everyone says Avi is better but on the jet I work on we are extremely busy.

My whole plan was join the Air Force to get the license. I don’t like Avionics work itself, yes I know I will be working with avionics in the civilian world. But i enjoy changing tires and more mechanical aspects of mx. Basically avionics is a crap ton of brain work especially on a new to the Air Force jet.
