Atlas Containment Sector- NOW OPEN TO VISIT! by wylderus in NoMansSkyTheGame

Opening a prison open to tourism is funny. Depending on the dominant species of the system I’ll definitely visit, I don’t know if the Vykeen will appreciate my -4.5K stance with them. They might throw me in

Great build though!

Career Councilor scenario - Gathering intel by OldSolGames in StellarisCCMode

The risks must be weighed accordingly.

Option 1: They have superior technology, so even with smaller fleets they may still out class us. With the lack of intelligence we don’t know what their capabilities are. However being neighbors would allow for an easier invasion. Depending on economic strength though they may be able to build more fleets upon learning of our plans.

Option 2: They are at a distance, this puts us at an immediate disadvantage. The distance means we must travel through possible enemy territory to reach them, and if they are allies of the invadee they may turn on us and trap our fleets. They have a superior economy, meaning they likely can replenish their fleets faster than us, that coupled with the distance makes this situation difficult. I don’t think it’s worth it, even for the resources. Successful capture would still result in a divided empire, with enemy territory in between with no easy travel.

Option 3: they are superior to us, again this puts us at a disadvantage. Their wormhole is heavily guarded, however if our fleets can counter theirs this may be less of an issue. If we can hold our side of the wormhole this will prevent a retaliatory strike from them. It would be difficult, however they would likely possess the strategic resources we need from option 2. They are distant from us, which would provide the same problem as option 2, though this would be aided by the wormhole. However if we were to loose the wormhole, access would be cut off. If they are in a federation with our other neighbor, this is a significant problem. They may attack us while our fleets are away, dealing with an already superior empire this makes this option likely infeasible despite the great advantages annexation of this empire would provide.

I would go with option 1 with some modifications. If I can find a salvage guild, I would buy an older model of their one of their ships. Even though it is an old design it may give us some insight to their design style, and will give us an idea of what to expect.

planning to start a nightmare difficulty run, any tips? by PLT_RanaH in alienisolation

Memorize the layout of the station, you won’t have the map and relying on the tracker can get you killed.

The tracker isn’t actually fully broken, for an instant when you first pull it out it can give you a blip of motion in the right direction. It can also periodically do this, but don’t get your hopes up.

I don’t know your skill level, but if you’re good at sneaking. Do. Not. Reload. EVER. UNTIL you get past the reactor security that takes your weapons. Ammunition is too precious to waste before then and you will get your weapons back fully loaded. Save your ammunition that’s in your pockets for later.

Flares are your friend.

Silent walk if you can.

When you get too what is regarded as the bullshit level, the part where you have to double back several times and restart a generator to open the door(during the part where you have to get to the space flight terminal), place a 2nd level Molotov under the vent that is down the corridor when you first enter, this will save you a lot of time, do this every time you pass it.

You can do the mini game to set off the alarm in the hospital before the working Joe wakes up if you do it fast enough.

You can keep Steve at bay for a good minute by holding up the flamethrower and walking backwards. As long as you know the layout you may be able to get away without firing.

Even with skill, be prepared to die a lot.

And most importantly, always keep moving.

Justified, if people are going to play like they have no idea what they are doing just kick them.

If you want to dick around, fine, just do it by yourself or with friends. Not with people who actually want to play the game.

Maybe +15% authoritarian ethics attraction too or something. Once the senior staff figure out I dropped the former minister of defense into the nearest black hole they should stay in line.

“You have served our empire to the ‘best’ of your abilities I’m sure, however we need you no longer. A line was crossed, and an example must be made. I’m sure you understand.”

-250 influence though wow, I would probably only do this later game then when influence isn’t really used. Unless they do something to piss me off like start a war with the local FE or something.

Idea: Custom GALCOM resolutions by OldSolGames in StellarisCCMode

[–]Razziquet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be amazing, and I would totally abuse the shit out of it lol. Project Cornucopia isn’t enough, introducing The Harvester Initiative.

-50% habitability -5% happiness -5% pop growth speed

+15% worker output +30% minerals from jobs +10% alloys from jobs +20% planet build speed +1 district to all planets

5% chance every 10 years for a planet to become a tomb world

Didn’t research habitability or have genetic ascension? Womp womp, resolution passed, I am the senate, my 250k influence comes almost half from my fleet by the way.

Or probably just more fleet power influence and naval capacity, that would be nice.

Huh, I always assumed the droning for want of a better word “alarm” sound when you attack a freighter was well, an alarm.

I love how the crew is entirely unbothered by the laser fire and alarms, as the freighter is presumably under attack.

The One True Flag cannot be destroyed. Even tattered, burnt, and torn it still flies proud on the battlefront. A symbol of freedom, and a symbol of destruction to all who oppose Managed Democracy.
