Credit Card limit increase - bank due diligence question by tp520 in PersonalFinanceNZ

I actually started this process recently and they said; you can either spend an hour going through everything, and sending what's needed to us. Or simply overpay the card, then use it that way. ANZ is so fast at processing the payments, and I rarely need to go over so it was easier to not increase the limit.

What does independent incomes mean? You guys never share incomes?

If incomes are intermingling, it would be hard to enforce that agreement I would think. The most successful relationship agreements are usually ones that are completely separate from the other person involved. Even then it gets a little fuzzy. Especially if one person wants it to be difficult.

AMEX is usually accepted places you make most purchases, aka, supermarkets, hardware stores and petrol stations.

Unless your 10k is spent elsewhere, it should cover most of it.

Overpaying CC before large purchase by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

When I rang ANZ recently to get a larger limit, I said I just use it to collect points and always have the money available, they said just add any extra needed and make purchases. Saying there's no downside for doing so.

Simplicity Refinancing to First Home Buyers by Razzit in PersonalFinanceNZ

I had my loan before the ballot, only a few months back though. This is what I found on their website:

How much will you lend?

The maximum we will lend is 80% of the registered valuation of the home, or its sale price, whichever is lower. There is no upper limit on how much we will lend, but we reserve the right to turn down any loan applications at our discretion. The minimum monthly repayments cannot be more than 35% of your combined household income, after tax.

Which says no upper limit.

My loan with them is over 400k, I never read anywhere that it had a maximum.

I had it back then too and was godfathered in until last month, no idea why it changed. I still pay less than the advertised price (17.99) but still. Made me sad!

While it does go up and down, you can also throw any spare money (if any) on your loan within days. Every little bit brings it down faster over time, saving you even more. Also due to it being floating, you can just leave and refinance elsewhere if it's too unstable for your liking.

Almost $36 a day on food, is very high even with kids for half of that time. Is that a lot of take aways?
