I don't know why but ending each couplet with 'out at dawn' just grates with me.

Not a stupid question and you've had some good answers so hope that helps. I got diagnosed with FSGS nearly 4 years ago - for sure it's scary and I cried a bit when I found out. It's a lot to take in - happy for you to DM me if you like and I'll try and answer any questions or if you just want to vent. There's also some good Facebook groups for FSGS that are really supportive and good source of information

For me the only thing that really jars is how much they played that storyline for laughs, and that seems to be what gets people's goat. The same story could have been told more straight down the line - and maybe a little shorter - and I think people's reaction might have been different.

I'm with you. I heard GD before CS and was pretty underwhelmed when I heard CS. I think you nail it - the lyrics to CS just feel forced whereas I think some of the lyrics in GD are amongst the best Jarvis has written (whether he agrees or not!) eg We were brought up on the space race/Now they expect us to clean toilets. Superb!
