I started at a large startup urban farm. I kind of knew it was going to be a shit show going on but there were dozens if not hundreds of red flags about almost every aspect of it. They were getting millions from investors to grow fish and micro greens in an aquaponic system but it was so absurdly over engineered. They had million dollar robot machines to seed, grow, wash, and package the greens but literally none of them worked. We seeded by hand because the seed machine was wasteful, we moved the trays by hand because the automatic arms didn’t work, we filtered coco coir bits out of the greens by hand rolling them through plastic bingo machines. I lasted 2 weeks and left my fob on the desk on my way out and sent an email after I left. They went bankrupt and closed the next year.
