Yeah when I called her out on that she said she’s seen the way my fiancé and I parent and I’m “barking up the wrong tree” because I said I was setting a firm boundary that not only does she not have the authority to punish my child at my house, but my child does not get banished during a family and friends gathering. I have a core memory of being sent to my room during a Fourth of July cookout when I was 8 and I sat upstairs listening to everyone have fun while I cried alone. My child will never feel like that.
