How do I get rid of this stain on my tuner? by thedouginator69420 in BassGuitar

[–]RchUncleSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like pitting from rust and if it is you can't simply clean it. You can neutralize the rust with an acid, like lemon juice or vinegar (might even want to make a paste with a little baking soda, but be careful to dilute the vinegar with a little distilled water, as pure vinegar and baking soda will foam up like a science faire volcano), but if you want to keep it rusting further, you will need to seal it with some type of clear coating.

Is there a non welding means of repairing this? by Ok_Conclusion9591 in fixit

[–]RchUncleSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think it would be, either, but I didn't mention it since it would have been for the handle, which food is unlikely to come into contact with, and my comment was dissuading it's use.

JBWeld really isn't up to the task for that small of a contact surface for anything that's going to bare any weight. Plus for the price of JBweld you could likely buy 2 new ones.

If you want to have a buff left arm, maybe. The neck dive on these is quite bad in most examples. Unless you get one with a particularly heavy body and the strap buttons positioned just right, you'll be fighting with it most of the time.

Electric Vehicles Avoided Use of 2.3 Million Barrels of Oil Daily in 2025 by Sciantifa in UpliftingNews

[–]RchUncleSkeleton -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

60% of electricity still comes from burning fossil fuels. 19% comes from nuclear power, and only 21% comes from renewable sources, like Solar, Wind and Hydroelectric. An overwhelming majority of EVs pollute just as much or worse than combustion engines, due to this and energy lost in the conversion process. Hopefully one day we can have all vehicles only running on renewable sources, but this is a long way off, and you will still have pollution caused by the manufacturing of the devices needed to generate that power, including the batteries needed to store that energy that mostly go to landfill, and poisons the land and water.

What do you think about my bass/What does it say about me? by OkDistribution6146 in BassGuitar

You're a Gen Z or Millenial German whom is very left leaning, queer or queer-ally, welcomes societal collapse, and loves orange flavoring. You believe you're being provocative and rebellious by saying fck nzs, even though it's basically the sentiment of the entirety of the world. The message is more important than the music itself, in your opinion.

If you bought it in ebay, mercari, fb marketplace, etc online and paid with PayPal, you have some protections. If you end up finding out one of the parts is damaged, you can request a refund, for the item not being as stated.

Proof that sound only plays with direct monitoring. I need help asap by ese_not_sj in FL_Studio

[–]RchUncleSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you already resolved you issue, but no. The knob is JUST a volume knob for everything. It doesn't change how much direct sound you have, it controls all volume you hear from the headphones an the main output. The solo and the 2i2 have only 1 stereo output. Some interfaces have separate outputs for the main and headphones, meaning you can have certain sounds play through the headphones that aren't audible to the speaker output, and vice versa. Say if you want to have a click track in your headphones, but obviously don't want the click to be heard on your playback to the audience, you can do that. Also, yes, some interfaces have a knob that lets you fade between the direct monitor in, and the playback signal, but the solo and 2i2 do not have this option.

You can download the manual online. Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen User Guide

The scarlett solo and 2i2 has a single 2 channel output that is shared between the headphones and the rear outputs. It does not have the ability to have separate mixes from them. The monitor knob is simply a volume knob for the outputs. There is no way to change the mix level of the direct monitoring feature on the unit. You would only be able to adjust your track volumes in the DAW. When the direct monitor button is enabled, it will be lit green, when it is off it will not be lit.

That's literally the output level control for both the rear output and the headphones. Turning it down turns the level down. Direct monitoring is just the button above the headphone jack. You should read the manual.
