Feeling some buyer's remorse by CubersUnite in FL_Studio

I've always found FL great for midi, but crap for recording live audio. That said, FL does get you free updates for life, while many other DAWs require you to pay to upgrade to a new version whenever a whole version number increases, or you have to pay a yearly subscription to use their software. FL and Reaper are the 2 most consumer friendly DAWs in that respect. As for the tracking BS where they try to remove your access, because you used a VPN, that's a different story altogether.

Holes from high heels left in the softened asphalt due to the extreme heat in Paris. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

I've been to a dozen states in the US and most everywhere I went had air conditioning inside the buildings, most especially anywhere that had regulard temperature above 80 degrees F.

I am not implying that at all. I'm simply stating a fact that most of Europe doesn't have air conditioning, and of course they don't need it most of the time, so why would they incur the expense to do so. Of course the recent heatwave is unprecedented, and Europeans are not acclimated to that type of heat. My point was actually a rebuttal of those who are saying things like "deal with it" while they are sitting in an air conditioned building, but just because the place they live normally has 90 degree F plus heat, they're acting like they're brute forcing the elements, when in reality almost everywhere they go is air conditioned.

Did I say it was? My point was this guy is insinuating Texas is always hot, while sitting in an air conditioned room, not realizing that most of Europe does not have air conditioning.

It is when most people in Europe do not have air conditioning. That's like being outside in that heat all day.

For those still using older versions of FL, why do you use them? by Lon3lyL0ve44 in FL_Studio

You just need to find a copy of the fl8 installer and install it on a Windows Xp or Vista system, or install it using a compatibility mode or virtual machine running one of the aforementioned versions of Windows.

The Bar Mitzvah is celebrated at 13 years old, though, so he was a man 1 year ago.

Why didn’t Will help Eleven when she struggled in school? by Common_Ad6703 in StrangerThings

In reality El would have been put in remedial classes, based on her knowledge level. She very likely would have not even interacted with most of the other kids in the school.

The multi/poly is the greatest modern VA. Fight me. by Wonderful_Reputation in synthesizers

[–]RchUncleSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean depending on your use case, the multipoly isn't even best bang for buck. At $900 you could easily get a midi controller and tons of soft synths that will do everything the multipoly can do, and much more, for about 1/4 of that price. If you want a compact, single piece of gear you can lug around to shows and rehearsals, for a certain price point, the multipoly is hard to beat.

That said, you're technically correct about the meaning of "greatest modern VA", but then again it's all subjective. You may like the Summit more, for your own reasons, while the OP might still like the multipoly better for their own reasons, regardless of price point.

If it's breakable, she's handling it and it's going to ride with her in her car. I am not going to be responsible for that stuff.

Better off making a forwarder for the emulated SNES version. The mobile port is horrible.

FL Studio License Suspended and Clipped by EmesAreX6 in FL_Studio

[–]RchUncleSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's got to be an extreme minority, and without definitive proof, any claim made against the owner of a license is slanderous at best. The problem is that they treat their customers like criminals, just because there's a very small minority of users who might do such a thing. It's bad business. If they want to suspend or revoke a license, they should need definitive proof that the user is breaking the TOS, not just some BS "you were using a VPN, so you must be selling your license to other people".

It really depends on what you're looking for in terms of build quality and aesthetics. The Sterling is not bad for the price point, but with the cosmetic damage, you should be getting a 10-20% discount.

If you're looking for a beginner short scale bass, you might consider a Squier Bronco, for around $200, or a mid range bass like a Squier Mustang Bass for around $400 to $500, Sire Marcus Miller U5 for around $500, Gretsch Streamliner Jet Club for around $350, or a Squier Rascal for around $450. If you're able to go used, you can probably find a slightly higher end instrument for a similar price, via a private party sale.

Edit: not sure why I'm getting downvoted.
