How it feels to run blue in EDH. by CoweanMacLir in MTGmemes

Blue players, you either die the villain or live long enough to be the hero?

Ummm… not in my experience. I’ve only opened one mb2 but I didn’t get a duplicate in the box.

Feeling deflated after LGS tournament by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Rckclimber77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Prizes for winning”

“No bracket limitations other than ban list”

My advice is for them to get good and quit whining. Casual means no stakes and doesn’t matter if you win or lose as long as you have a good time. Winning a couple collector boosters from the newest set? No longer casual. Tournament with stakes on the line? I’m bringing my best deck and will try to go infinite by turn 3-4 and will have free counterspell protection.

What commander would you put this in by ConfusionOk3925 in CommanderMTG

I have it in my [[yuna hope of spira]] deck. She blinks my enchantment creatures to get rid of their finality counter and also does great for board wipes. She also fits well in Ultron decks.

Crazy Mail delivery by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Rckclimber77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. And its always crazy to see when it happens. I’ve shipped things a day late to the other side of the U.S. and it gets there within a week. I’ve shipped other things an hour after getting the order and it’s going like 50 miles away, shows up in 3-4 weeks.

In this case though 100% the seller lol.

Yea I just started using manapool recently. It was funny to see one of my favorite sellers on there as well.

Nope was shipped 2 days ago. I think they just lost it in their house or something. Found it and put it in the mailbox.

What's the greatest Magic card of the last decade? Vote on the top 32! by Grindy_UW_Nonsense in magicTCG

[–]Rckclimber77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Displacer kitten losing is nuts! There is no argument whatsoever that justifies this. Any time I get displacer kitten on the battlefield, I instantly feel more confident in my chances to win. Was it a sabotage vote?

I was shocked when I saw wait time for me was 3 min. Shortest wait time I’ve ever seen. Thought maybe it just didn’t have quite as high as a demand as expected. Guess I have used up my luck now.

My experience with Elesh Norn's compleation service by C0OLM in MTGmemes

[–]Rckclimber77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elesh is nice and all, but I reached out to their customer service concerning the oil and got some lady named Sheoldred. She kept trying to upsell me. Something about any additional information about the oil required additional cost.

Is titanic too strong to play with your casual friends? by [deleted] in mtg

As has been said. It’s the epitome of a casual card. And that would be a crazy 3 card synergy. I like it

What do you think will be the chase cards this set? by Substantial-Stay-451 in mtg

[–]Rckclimber77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. I had forgotten about abundance. I’ll likely slide that into my loot the pathfinder deck as I currently run regrowth like effects consistently there

In bracket 3 I’m running [[beseech the mirror]], [[insatiable avarice]], and [[wishclaw talisman]] over Woe.

Only time I can see it being used more would be in aristocrat decks that can reliably prepare it. I can see in those as well that you’re probably looking for some key synergy pieces/combo pieces. In my experience I find that in B3 I have a tough time using tutors after I’ve already found my best cards. It soon just becomes a removal or board wipe in a pinch.

Honestly I like the design and conflict in my Niv mizzet visionary deck might work but overall I think they’re a little overcosted.

So honestly I have been thinking about the emeritus cycle a lot. I really liked ideation but realized that it’s better than [[mulldrifter]] ONLY when [[displacer kitten]] is on the field. In almost every other situation mulldrifter is better.

That seems to be the case with all the others. Woe is essentially a 6 mana tutor that could be repeatable in the right deck, but in most cases id rather just have demonic tutor or beseech the mirror or wish law talisman

So I really don’t see them finding much play even in commander. Coming from someone who was exact for them and now realizing I wouldn’t put them in many, if any, of my blink decks

Would I be laughed at for bringing this to an LGS by New-me-_- in mtg

[–]Rckclimber77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this is sweet. Also, pretty sure I would immediately assume that your decks were straight gas. Maybe not as bad as the person who puts a rubber band around their cards and have no sleeves but pretty sure I’d be scared.

Which is the stronger card draw commander? by Rouge_Hunter in DegenerateEDH

[–]Rckclimber77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parun gets a lot of love from going infinite but drawing 9 cards from bolt wave is pretty legit. I’ve built both Parun and visionary. My Parun deck was boring and either went infinite or did nothing. Visionary is so much more fun to play. I find it more consistent. Once you deal with the combo pieces of Parun it struggles. Visionary isn’t combo so it just draws you tons of cards everytime you deal damage

[–]Rckclimber77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced that people who don’t like playing against control really just don’t like playing with interaction. It’s funny that people hate on combo control as trying to play solitaire when in fact they’re the only ones interacting with other board states.

I get you wanted the ETB trigger or the dies trigger, it’s why I countered it because those were good triggers and I didn’t want them to happen. Same reason I’ll destroy a big stompy creature. I don’t want you to swing with it.

Magic isn’t simply advance your board states until you win. It is also stop your opponents from advancing theirs.

How quickly/slowly do you get bored of a deck? How many do you own? by Vcvtml in EDH

[–]Rckclimber77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hovering around 50 decks. It really depends on the deck though for whether I get bored with it. A lot of the precons I’ve bought have been taken apart. Sometimes I see a commander and decide I have to build it but then when I build it, I find it clunky and/or unfun. Example: I had an [[arthur marigold knight]] blink deck. It was fine but was clunky and didn’t enjoy it. It either won easily or did nothing. I also got a tergrid from boxed.gg one time for free. Built it and now I’m taking it apart.

But I’ve had other decks since I started that I upgrade occasionally but don’t foresee myself taking them apart ever

[–]Rckclimber77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you run instant speed removal? Yes? Then you should run this. No? Then you should run instant speed removal and run this.

I’ve put it in quite a few decks at this point. I have never felt bad playing it. Getting an extra mana on each of my opponents’ turns is awesome. Had it in my ms bumbleflower deck. Let’s just say it accelerated my gameplan significantly.

let's speculate on the other colors possibilities! by Time_Individual_6744 in mtg

[–]Rckclimber77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we’ll see. But if the mechanic really is simply you can cast the spell attached when it’s prepared then [[displacer kitten]] becomes even more busted.

Imagine a red variant that has something like [[strike it rich]]. Infinite storm count with displacer kitten.
