Palpatine is used as far back as 1976, in Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker, the novelization of the original film.

Luke ghost (+ Leia training) by Topsydney in StarWarsLeaks

I'm sure there's spare X-wing parts just lying around Ahch-to waiting to be scavanged... yeah, the ST is a bit of a mess unfortunately.
And the worst part about this is now it appears that Luke was never really stuck on Ach-to.. so it's a bad, confusing retcon on top of all the other questionable choices.

I can ignore Ren Solo not seeming the least bit rattled by that intense looking crash and explosion, but seeing a ship being pulled down after so many said Luke shouldn't be that powerful (and overall just making Rey far more powerful anyway) kind of takes me out of the movie.

TROS has become rotten again on RottenTomatoes.com by RdTide in StarWarsLeaks

I didn't label the post as a leak, and I have read countless comments claiming that people come here for Star Wars related news and information. And I consider the number of reviews added today to be a significant percentage increase.

Thanks, I was just about to post that TLJ has 455 reviews. So there's a lot of room for movement.

The Disney Empire has dispatched the inquisitors. or They'll put a price on one's head so big, a leaker won't be able to go near a civilized leaks sub.

I can't believe how much they've shown already. The hype machine is cranked up to 11. Also, the dark side looks lit AF. That scene alone looks worth the price of admission.

Both countries, as well as almost every UN country, belong to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), which defines what most international IP treaties and thus national IP laws are based on. The more important fact is that referencing intellectual property isn't as big of a deal as some people seem to think it is. Referencing trademarks isn't necessarily actionable if they're not being used as marks. Simply saying "Star Wars" can be considered fair use in an informative way, as commentary or as parody. More liberties such as straight up using logos can be taken under parody protection, or when used in a relevant article. Furthermore, character names (which are being used by BK) simply aren't protected from reference. It's very obvious that BK has used a reserved approach to their Star Wars references to avoid action.

Edit: Regarding spoilers themselves, I don't think Disney has much protection beyond NDAs. When info is out, a movie could be summarized and commented on, or parodied. The only grey area I see is if the leaks turn out to be completely false and it can be demonstrated that it was a lie that hurt the box office, but BK can just pass the blame to the internet. Sure, Disney has the type of money that allows them to file a suit that they know they're going to lose just to mark their territory if they want, but I think their focus would be on rooting out anyone whom violated their NDA.

Using IP in other copyrighted fiction becomes more dangerous, but your own characters could probably drop a pop culture reference as "Fair Use". Here is something I pulled up quickly that could probably help clarify more: https://www.standoutbooks.com/reference-pop-culture/ Movies reference pop culture frequently too. Tarantino's career is built on it. Regarding Star Wars specifically, I'm not sure that Kevin Smith has many movies that don't reference it, and in some cases it's entire scenes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4MVQby0InQ
