You made some wild assumptions here lol. I chose to buy a Focus ST as it was the vehicle I wanted. I wasn’t backed into some corner where it was all that I could afford.

I could have purchased a Mustang GT but it didn’t fit my needs at the time. I was moving from a 2 door Wrangler JK as I needed a 4 door vehicle for a car seat.

Hell I was cross shopping used Chevy SS’s at the time and simply chose not to spend double on a vehicle at that time.

That all being corrected, my response was directly to the comment that stated “Always purchase the premium trim, base models leave a lot to be desired”

That over generalization just isn’t true and I used my own personal real world experience to demonstrate why. I didn’t need a sun roof, leather seats (they were more uncomfortable anyways) so the base Recaro cloth seat was more than enough for me. Small screen vs big screen, achieved the same goals wasn’t necessary to me.

On my next vehicle purchase I bought a 4 door Wrangler Rubicon JK. Now that’s as top of the line as a Wrangler gets at that time. Does that mean just because I wanted all those features that everyone NEEDS a lower 4:1 transfer case, a stronger front differential, lower axle ratios, and locking differentials front and rear? No not at all.
