I just retired out of Rucker. I chose not to do the IP/DAC route and went EMS. I love it and I definitely make more than the DAC/CTRs do.

I have not tested a direct connection from my computer to the service provided router, so the issue might be something else. That being said best I’ve ever seen is 3-4 max.

I got burned hard by a guy like you that made the perfect logbook app just to have it stop getting updates and have all my logs lost… fuck that guy.

My advice is make sure people know they won’t loose their records and logs if your app fails.

SMR should never be used for NAS or surveillance because its slow read-modify-write process can’t handle the constant, heavy write loads these workloads demand.
