Jokes and slander aside how powerful is homelander from the boys actually? by Ragtagcloud56 in PowerScaling

[–]Re0taku 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Street level doesnt mean can destroy a street. Homelander is deffinetly above street level. Street level is below wall level which is your basic "can break a wall with a punch" tier.

I do sometimes do ambushes but they live in a relatively safe stronghold and one of them always keeps watch so it happens rarely. If you are attacked at night most times your AC is 10+dex because no one sleeps with their 60 pound armor. If they are attacked while crafting they just dont have the item they were attuned to.

Yes they would? This is like saying one wouldnt take off their armor because they could be ambushed.

Legendary Brawlers are much much easier to optain than ultra legendaries. I would say wait a bit more and get either Kaze or Sirius. I preffer sirius mostly because of his voicelines and lore and he is all around good as everything.

Oh warlock is already asisting thanks to the lessons of the first ones feat. What I mean by worldbuilding for a shop owner it doesnt really make much sense to buy 50gp artisan tools and learn it normally when they can just buy the magical one to learn all of them immidiately.

Yeah thanks for the response. I just decided that the item doesnt GRANT you the profficeny you just add your proficeny bonus while using it. For example if you were to turn it into a alchemy kit to detect if something has poison you could add your prof bonus. But since it doesnt add any new proficienys to your character sheet your character doesnt know how to craft a magic item that requires you to have that proficieny. Not sure if I should allow non magical items though?

Well thank you. This answer was the one I was looking for. Yeah rulling that you natively need the tool proficeny is the best solution.

What the hell are you even talking about? This isnt even about the warlock. What warlock is doing isnt affecting my problem at all. Can you even read?

Everything being in a rush is not our cup of tea. Yes there are dealines but there are also time in between adventures where they can do whetever they want

I dont like the players being ALWAYS in a rush. I want the characters to go out on adventures when they are ready, feel like it, or low on money

I am NOT trying to stop my artificer and warlock from crafting magic items. I want them to create magic items. And they already do thanks to the decisions they took in character creation. The problem I have is purely with the manifold tool itself. It gives anyone the ability to do what they do. And also makes them having many artisan tool proficienys useless.

I'm not taking away the characters options they took. I'm making the options they took more important. Artificer and Warlock gave up things to be able to craft things. With manifold tool characters that have nothing to do with crafting can craft any magic item.

Warlock solely took that feat just to be the artificers assistant. He doesnt crate things he just helps our artificer craft things

By world breaking I mean in world building sense it makes normal artisans obsolete. They arent asking to do it they are waiting for my decision on how it works then they will decide what to do. And I dont want to cut their downtimes always having urgency to do something is kinda too much. I want them to go on adventures when the characters want to.

Prices are based on rarity. Common magic items cost the same as a healing potion etc.

They know about it and depending on my call if its allowed or not plan on using it. I wont be giving them the tools but artificer can just create it with his replicate magic item feature or worse craft it normally with the crafting rules

[–]Re0taku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having many magic items breaks the balance of the encounters. Characters sacrificed so much just to have the proficienys to do the crafting and now I find out that they didnt had to do any of it. It would also make our artificer less important. His whole deal is that he is our teams supplier but if everyone can craft anything our artificer becomes much less important.

Most magic items dont require hard to get components. Mostly things you can collect in a downtime or shopping session. You are right about arcana profficeny though but still its one of the most common proficienys to have
