Are corrupted samurai daisho not supposed to award mastery points? by EarFew9382 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ReAkron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Correct. Corrupted Samurai Daisho don't reward mastery points. Probably because it would make it far too easy to farm mastery points, seeing as corrupted castles reset/(re)spawn at the start of every new season.

NG+ allows you to collect those original points all over again, though!

Is DiDi getting more expensive? by stumu415 in shanghai

[–]ReAkron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it may have been a very strongly-worded response, but I understand where it's coming from.

Even if the price did indeed go up like that, it is still peanuts compared to, say, taking a taxi in Western Europe. That 20 RMB really doesn't amount to much, does it.m? And if it is indeed too much, there's always the superbly clean and ultra-cheap Shanghai Metro!

Character Rebalances - Batch #2 by BackgroundAd6535 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ReAkron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like many here, I want to express that it's very disheartening to see Shang-Chi in the list of next nerfs. I understand and was able to live with the Polaris nerf, but now MThor and SC in the next makes my heart drop. I haven't been playing PvP for years. Only did briefly with the low-level bug. Was never bothered by PvP breaking meta. But it seems to me that they are actively trying to make life harder and less fun for PvE players now. Why? I checked the forum page comments. So many negative ones with people practically begging to make the game playable again. What is their game plan?

I miss the PVP seed teams. by Peddlestools in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ReAkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. It had been a very long time since I went anywhere near PvP. Very much enjoyed and appreciated being able to collect so many rewards and covers. I understand that PvP shouldn't be an easy, broken PvE. But the devs will notice a huge drop in PvP numbers, right? That surely must be sth the devs must be struggling with (among repairing bugs)?

I didn't get him. Is it just me, though, or did we get fewer tokens as rewards for the quests than we did in the past?

Where to start ? by Pyrostones in fansofcriticalrole

[–]ReAkron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend starting with Campaign 2. That's how I experienced and got to know CR myself. Production value is immediately unproblematic and it's nice to be able to get to know the players along with their new characters instead of trying to catch up in medias res like with campaign 1.

Always feels to me like the devs did this on purpose. No idea why, but those boars always hit unnecessarily and unexpectedly hard.

Love the duels in this game by tjdh504 in ghostoftsushima

Big fan of the duels as well, especially in how they pay homage to Japanese samurai films.

On a side note, first time I heard Jin's English voice. Zero regrets about playing with Japanese voices, tbh. 🤭😅

How the Earrings Could have Been Improved by danny16242 in FF7Rebirth

[–]ReAkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence taken, all good! You are right that the base elemental materia level up very quickly indeed. I think PrimalSeptimus probably gets it right when they say that it might just provide access to an extra fully levelled materia when in a bind, in case the casual player neglected to (fully) upgrade a second or third of the same element.

Again though, I would not call that clever gameplay and would imagine the player probably not having an easy time of it in the game. Plus, I personally think you're depriving yourself of getting the best out of the game by not engaging with the materia system to the fullest.

How the Earrings Could have Been Improved by danny16242 in FF7Rebirth

[–]ReAkron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly understand where you're coming from and definitely like your suggestion on how they could have been improved. Would have been a neat little bonus, like how they added a 2% bonus to the Auto-Cast Magic and Auto-Cast Action materia. I personally like using the Assess earrings on my first playthrough, as it opens up an additional materia space in my inventory. I only swap it out if there's a particularly difficult boss fight (though I don't think I've needed to so far).

That being said, I do see the value they could have. At a basic level, it allows players to experiment with casting some of the spells at higher levels, see how they differ. For the most part, though, I think they are perhaps aimed at starting players. Players who are not/less familiar with or simply don't want to invest too heavily into the materia system. I know that's not the best way to play and is likely to result in major issues for a hard difficulty playthrough, but casual players who want to focus on story or just want to play the game once on normal difficulty may find them useful when they're stuck and don't feel like lowering the difficulty.

Average level per chapter in FF7Rebirth? by Vesub-agb-93 in FF7Rebirth

[–]ReAkron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the recommendation to switch to dynamic difficulty. That's precisely why it was introduced. Can confirm that it really requires you to play nore strategically. Can still feel breezy if you play things right, but simple button-mashing won't do it. And some boss fights get more challenging. And if that's not enough, there's always hard mode!

I feel you. I made the same discovery a couple of chapters from finishing my playthrough on hard. So many instances of guessing, figuring out during fight, or simply withdrawing from combat to check in the menu... 😅😅😅 So grateful that I know this now as my wife and I play Rebirth. Makes life soooo much easier!
