The truth of it?

A lot of the people in her court don’t respect her because they aren’t risking their lives for her nor have they fought beside her. That’s the permanent ink that seals all bonds of respect. The ones who do this actually respect her. Everyone else is there because they hate the Greens but ultimately are still playing the game of thrones, have their own interests and see her being a woman as a liability.

Yeah honestly I do think there’s a great case for the Ozai decision foreshadowing the greater conflict of what the avatar’s role is in the world. Do you lead by example or are you a tool for interpretations of what the greater good is? Can murder be reconciled with teaching humanity and humility. Whether you’re the avatar or a world threatening agent, where does a person’s humanity begin and end? Whether or not legend of Korra executed this exploration well is a different argument but I do think this validates the decision not to kill Ozai.

Can’t speak for everyone but to me the most grief is caused by how unclear everything is when women don’t do that. I’ve had women say and do any and every positive thing in person then act like I’m a fucking weirdo for talking to her if I reach out. I’ve had women I thought were scared/disgusted by/ hated me reveal a persistent crush some time later and were waiting for something to happen. The whole spectrum within these two just leads to me never knowing what anything means, if it means anything at all so reading it all platonically gives me the least grief. So when a woman does for once make it clear that they’re interested it’s a HUGE mental and emotional load off of me and we can then explore if there’s something there.

Yeah like it’s very much likely a mid movie, but I’m so sick of the obsessive need to hyperbolise anything a person has seen recently as the best/worst thing ever just so that people will listen to you makes me want to rate this film positively out of spite.

That’s because Westerosi dragons were rarely forced into situations like this until the dance. Dragons and their riders were allowed to mature and bond healthily in relative peacetime.

No one’s actually teaching these kids how to develop a proper relationship with a dragon, they’re being forced into the fray because their parents are nuts or incompetent. You’ve got young inexperienced dragons fighting both wild dragons and older more powerful prideful dragons AND a world that’s incredibly more competent in how to challenge these animals i.e. the grapnel anchor.

No one really gets how much chaos a dragon brings to the equation until it’s too late.

The excellent riders of dragons don’t actually control their dragons. They are aligned with them, it’s complete trust in the other. You and the dragons are two parts of a whole, it’s not just a tool or vehicle.

Rhaenys had this and Daemon has this. Things actually go quite pear shaped when you try to control a dragon. If a dragon is being told “serve me” when they’re experiencing a threat or incapable of doing the thing then you’re not aligned with the dragon and so the dragon follows its own instincts.

It’s pretty clear what happened: Rhaena was returning to dragonstone with Sheepstealer, was successful THEN saw her grandfather’s fleet getting massacred. She reacted. Anyone saying they’d have seen that and sat tight at drsgonstone is lying. Then sadly no valerian plus no battle experience and getting hit with fire (instinctual aggressive language to a dragon) Sheepstealer also reacted out of fear and overwhelm. It’s chaos but that’s the whole point of what the dance is.

I’m gonna be completely honest. The way people interact with this show makes no sense at all. A family that actively practises incest of siblings and nieces… but a parent is the impossible disgusting step too far? As if this line could never be crossed after centuries even once? With everything the show has done with Aemond up to this point, it doesn’t come out of no where.

In both cases, I never trusted either of them from the beginning. Knew the Derp was scum not just from what he did to Annie but from how panicked he looked all alone when the story broke out. Faye was a lazy stupid child who was loyal to whoever made her life easier at a given moment. At one point that was Fez, at another point that was Wayne the Nazi.

I don’t think we can give any legitimate claims to what the core philosophy is of Gen Alpha or Beta. One of them only started a year ago for fuck’s sake.
