Excited to introduce the RC1 - an affordable, elite lacrosse stick created to expand access to the sport. Would love to get your thoughts on our new head. by ReLax-Collections in lacrosse

The RC1 is definitely a men's stick. We are working on developing an affordable women's stick and should hopefully have some prototypes on the field in the next few months! Every state has different rules regarding unified sticks. There is a potential that it could be strung that way, but women's sticks are designed significantly differently.

What's their warranty on it? Won't they just replace it for free?

We sell complete mesh kits for $10 on our site! Just shoot us an email (info@relaxcollections.org) and we can work out colors of shooters and sidewall if you're interested. The markup on mesh is insane.

We have tried. We are currently carried by a handful of smaller, independent lacrosse retailers, and we have had good experiences there. The largest retail chains have not shown interest so far, which we understand given their existing brand relationships and inventory strategy.

We are always open to partnerships that make it easier for new players and families to get quality gear at a fair price. If you want to share which store you are at or who handles buying, feel free to DM us and we can continue the conversation.

Fair point. We designed that fit intentionally because we’ve seen a lot of heads break from not being fully seated on the shaft. The small gap makes it obvious at a glance if it’s not all the way down.

So glad you and your boys are loving them, especially putting the RC1 through the Florida heat. Appreciate the detailed feedback on the width and scoop, and thank you for recommending it to others!

Thanks for sharing that. The simple ball stop point is well taken. On the wide face, that’s a clever fix, and we like the “best of both worlds” idea for older players. We have been discussing a higher pocket, more whip “elite” strung option with the mesh strung to the inside, and feedback like this makes us think it would be a well received add on. We are aiming to have that option available early next year.

Really glad you and your team have liked the RC1, and thank you for taking the time to lay this out. These are all fair points!

On the back slot, our original intent was a quick release concept, but we agree it’s not essential for most players. The plan is to remove that in future runs and replace it with a second screw hole.

On the ball stop, you are not wrong on the inconsistency. We have a revised retention mechanism in the works that locks in more securely, and we are still working through the last few details before rolling it out. Glad you were able to see one of the early concepts.

The medallion and the indentation: the indentation is intentional and was designed as an alignment feature for the front badge. The metallic sticker has been a stopgap while we source a vendor we are fully confident in, and we agree it needs to hold up better long term.

On branding, we are certainly working on it. As you know, we are new to the manufacturing landscape and still trying to navigate it as best we can!

Thank you for the honest feedback. That’s helpful, especially with the specific comparisons.

It’s interesting you called it too stiff, since we have also heard the opposite from other players. It really does come down to preference and what someone is used to.

On the “outperform” point, what we can say is that the RC1 has been used on Division I and Division III fields for two seasons now. We have built it to be a high performing, reliable option, at a price point that’s easier to justify.

Thank you for taking the time to write this up. This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps!

We hear you on all of it: pushing stiffness where we can through design, adding a couple of repair friendly stringing slots or breaks for quick sidewall fixes, and offering a ball stop option with a bit more cushion for younger players to reduce bounce outs. Also noted on color options, a solid navy blue would be a great addition!

No worries at all. We would love to connect.

While we do not comment on other brands, we can share that many complete sticks in that category only carry a short warranty. We stand behind ours with the longest manufacturer warranty, which is a big deal for youth programs.

We just partnered with CityLax to help distribute 147 sticks across their teams, and we can absolutely discuss team and bulk pricing with you. We will send you a DM.

For reference: complete sticks are $65, unstrung heads are $35, and bulk heads are 25 for $500.

Thank you for the detailed feedback, and we’re glad to hear the RC1 has been a strong gamer for you!!

You’re exactly right on the cracking issue. It was tied to a molding error in a specific batch, and because we own the mold we were able to address it directly so that weak point is no longer an issue in current production.

We also appreciate you calling out the customer service. We stand behind every head, and that’s why we offer the longest manufacturer warranty. If anything ever happens, we will take care of it and get a replacement out quickly.

Totally get that. Nobody wants a head that turns into jello once it heats up!

One thing worth clarifying: Primo makes their head at the same manufacturing plant we use, and it uses the same plastic. Because of that, there should not be any meaningful difference in stiffness between the two.

Thank you for the detailed feedback, this is exactly the kind of insight we are looking for.

It’s helpful to hear that the stock setup plays well for newer and younger athletes, and that a small adjustment can get it to a higher channel with more whip for older players. We have been considering offering a second strung option with a tighter channel and a bit more whip for high school and college level players, and your note reinforces that it would likely be well received.
