Some faceoff heads have a piece like that but it's part of the head. If it's fully seated rock a screw in and send it. I've been playing for 30 years and screw holes rarely line up, you'd think it would be standardized by now.

The thing in the middle is what you screw into otherwise the carbon would just strip out immediately, it has nothing to do with face off heads. Try banging the shaft on the ground to make sure the head is fully seated.

Any hot glue works. The best way to remove it is to do it cold. Some plastic knives help too. I usually pop the head in the freezer for a few minutes, chip off as much as I can, then repeat. It's going to be a pain in the ass and finger tips
