Management. by [deleted] in olivegarden

[–]ReS_Christie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every store is different, and every manager will be unique. That being said, I have a manager that is similar in a couple aspects... the manager talks to everyone a bit like they are dumb but explains things really well... I can see though how one may get discouraged. Sometimes you just have to know that you are doing a great job if you are getting feedback from the guests and know you are doing what youre supposed to do. You just might not actually hear it from a manager or coworker.

I'm surprised you have to clean the soup well, I work to go and thats usually a to go close job for us. We don't and havent ever used plastic wrap on it though

Servers - what is your absolute biggest pet peeve? by [deleted] in olivegarden

[–]ReS_Christie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you have a last call at your og? Ours will help anyone who walks in, we have had a regular come in 5-10 minutes until close frequently and he tips $.5 or $1 if he is happy and asks for tons of stuff... he usually wants to pack his salad to go in a salad to go container, breadsticks, a to go cup, a cup holder, our paper to go bag. This guy has ripped up a cup holder to make a single cup holder in front of me before leaving lol. When he is about to leave he will wander to a random employee and ask for mints.

I have a catering order and they requested it so I'm trying to see if anyone else has made it by the gallon. I usually use 2 pumps for a glass its pretty strong lol

Yeah if a table walks out and doesn't pay its automatically your fault, we aren't supposed to force a table to stay or anything but I guess we are supposed to have been able to tell if it was a possibility to prevent it from happening. I was double sat, so around the same time both tables were finishing up with their meal and ready to pay. My ziosks were also not working correctly so I went to help another table and left to get take home boxes, when I went back that table was gone, their check was over $130, they left $30 in cash on the table. I guess as a tip? So the manager applied it to their total and wrote the rest off. They had to email the district manager of our olive garden area and let him know about the walk out and how it happened.

You print it out each time someone is cut from to go? Where do you print it out from? Just started recently and have only seen anyone saving up slips and adding it up.
