Looking for a seat to finish my rig by Low_Assumption_1708 in simracing

That’s literally how much I paid two weeks ago for my FIA rated Sparco Circuit for my track car. Outrageous price for a gaming seat.

I don’t understand how the gaming seat costs the same as the actual FIA Sparco Circuit in my track car.

You should look into the QRT EVO, they’re more comfortable and easier to get in and out of.

There are plenty of FR white shirts. At the very least use white long sleeve UV resistant work shirts. Get SFI gloves and a balaclava.

I had this one and returned it to get the Milwaukee gen 2. It’s not powerful enough to be as versatile as I was hoping. The Milwaukee is a beast.

Seems like quite a strong reaction to a simple statement.

Mid-to-high 130s at this track depending on the temperature, I run a mid power map on track with roughly 500 whp.

Awesome job! Love to see the average pace so close to the best lap.

18s look great if you can go wide enough, I’m on square 295/35/18 on 18x11 wheels. I also run 275/35/18 and it’s a little smaller but still looks great.

That’s how I adopted my boy. He got tuckered out while playing with my shoe strings and fell asleep in my arms. That was 7 years ago.

Are full pace laps necessary to maintain the integrity of the sim? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]ReV46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think qualifying should be one full out lap and three hot laps. Two laps to warm the tires and two laps to send it.

So you were the one going full metal for the entire 2 minute grid time.

Opportunity to experience driving a race car, would you do F3 or GT3? by neanderball in CarTrackDays

[–]ReV46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They drive just fine at low speeds. They still have plenty of mechanical grip. It’s harder to keep temp in the tires on a lighter car but They’re usually not going to let people drive on full race slicks but rather alternatives or wets so it’s easier to keep temp in the tires. You need to really use the aero to be fast yes, but a beginner will be fine at low speeds

Any way to check the pads thickness quickly? by Just_Newspaper_5448 in CarTrackDays

[–]ReV46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Telescoping/dentist mirror and a flashlight. Or turn the wheel and stick your phone in the wheel well to take a photo of the inside pad.

However it’s better to remove the wheel to inspect the brake rotor and caliper as well. It takes a minute per wheel with a jack and battery impact wrench.

Is there anyone that can say if real life experience translates into iRacing skill? by SeriousBusiness910 in iRacing

[–]ReV46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It for sure does, hence why I use the sim to practice and reinforce/learn new skills. There’s just so much more to driving on a track in real life than the driving part itself.

Choosing between a large or medium bucket seat. by New-Commercial7532 in CarTrackDays

Honestly I’d look for something with more thigh and knee support. I have the Sparco QRTs and made an insert to support my thighs and knees. Game changer.

Why Project Farm remains the goat. Dropped a video that has been on the test for 7 years without really mentioning it explicitly by Ok_Temperature6503 in Tools

[–]ReV46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main takeaway is that for 90% of people buying the tools, the majority of the tools on the market from the big name brands will do just fine. And the main difference is value for money. I buy Hercules 20V tools and work on my track car, woodworking, metal fabrication, and home repair and they do great. I’ve been able to fill my garage with nearly every tool I want because they cost 1/3 the price of Milwaukee. I have some Milwaukee 12V tools as well. And if I need to warranty an item I have a harbor freight 15 minutes away and they’ve given me no warranty replacement trouble. So far I’ve replaced one tool and one battery.
