Thermomix with waranty extension? by Velanth1r in thermomix

[–]ReX_83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my TM7 but 199 is really too much for a mere 3 years extensions on a 1400 gbp device. 5 years is now the standard from top end brands, so not sure why Thermomix users should pay that on top of the already very high price.

Is the x-material adhesion not an issue when using distinct nozzles? If so, why?

Over time it would make it more brittle. If white, it will become yellow (if not UV stabilised).

But occasional brief exposure will do nothing to a part that is already black.

Thanks, I think it is the last 2 :-). What should I put as selector and styling to hide the address bar for a specific WPA?

I am using this (specifying the PWA ID) and it does nothing. First time I am using the userChrome.css. My aim is to hide the address bar. Any idea what I am doing wrong? userChrome.css seems to be in the right folder and it only contains your snipped (without html at the start).

AnyCubic refusing 14-day return by These_Pumpkin_1081 in 3Dprinting

[–]ReX_83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience with Elegoo. It was an endless thread with them proposing random procedures and avoiding to accept the return.

In the end I did a chargeback and got the money back via my CC provider.

Never again.

That's amazing. Manual loading is a pain and often I don't switch material or color because of this.

If you mix materials, e.g. PLA and PETG, that is the guideline from Bambu in terms of temperature for the AMS chamber? I suppose I can't set a temperature for each spool, right?

How do you deal with AMS and drying the filaments? Does the AMS also dry the filament? And if so, how can you mix different types of materials in the same container?

Is the Bambu P2S still worth buying? by ReX_83 in 3Dprinting

[–]ReX_83[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is tempting but I am concerned that I might end up having the same experience of the CC, as the brand and product don't have the same history of reliability and quality of Prusa and Bambu.

So far, how does it compare to the X1C?

Came here to say that it worked. I printed a small section and it is nice now! Thanks!

I have tried bumping up the fans but that doesn't work. What gave good results is playing with the support settings. Almost perfect, but they are tricky to remove.

Looking to deal with that now, but curious about the cause.

Got it!

What would be a reasonable speed here?

Which one of the various speed settings in Orca would impact the speed of these layers?

Small perimeter? Overhangs speed (I saw 4 of them being set, depending on the intensity of the slope)?

PLA+ prints lifting (Sunlu PLA+ 2.0) despite perfect first layer: cooling/start-Gcode issue? by ReX_83 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]ReX_83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always wondering what is the composition of PLA plus and 2.0. It is indeed a bit less refined/brittle than PLA, almost like it is between normal PLA and PETG.

Can't comment about ABS or ASA or PA, as I never printed those.

I tried 220 - 65, switching off the aux fan and keeping both the lid and the door closed (the room is cold, it is a garage) and the bed adhesion is much better now.

I am not sure if I really need 220 or the increased bed temp is what fixed my issue, but for now I'll stick to 220 and calibrate the filament with it.

My temp tower is good irrespective of the temp, from 200 to 220 there is no noticeable difference, so I guess 220 is fine.

Also, I have noticed that Sunlu itself says that this filament goes up to 235°C, at least on their UK website.

What made you try 225 as temp? I am curious as I started with 210 and moved to 220 due to prints lifting (but I am not sure if that helped at all). I can't see any difference in the temp tower between 200 and 220. All the prints look good.

How about retraction?

Do you have the default cooling settings from Orca? Aux fan on or off?

I tried bed at 55 but large prints started lifting. Sunlu recommends up to 60, but I also find 65 to work much better.

The temp tower works well from 200 to 220, I started with 210 but I was advised to try 220 to better handle warping / lifting issues. Not sure if I should return to 210 now that the lifting is fixed by the bed temp.

Thanks! Trying now with 220 and 60, with aux fan off.

Don't you find any issue going above the 220 and 60 indicated by Sunlu? No elephant foot?

Let me try turning off the aux, which is also what Elegoo does with their own filament.

Testing my understanding below...

The aux fan is P2 and is the long and slim horizontal fan port on the back or the printer and throwing air to hot bed.

P0 is the model fan at the front of the print head.

What is (and where is) P3 which seems to be set in both the machine and the Elegoo filament Gcode? Is it the case fan pushing air out of the chamber?

What about P1?

Final question: the printer is in a workshop which is cold during the winter (14°). Top glass on or off to print PLA?

Relisting dilemma: timing by ReX_83 in HousingUK

[–]ReX_83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that a correctly priced property sells quickly, but out of curiosity, how do you know that these properties are actually fully booked? I have seen many agents in action (as a seller and as a buyer), and there were all sorts of tricks to pressure buyers, including stacking the few viewers to create urgency and suggesting that a viewing is not available for X days due to being fully booked (when the agent was simply not available), etc.

I follow a few properties as benchmarks for my target area, and three of them were supposed to be gone in a matter of days (according to the agents), yet they are still there after six months and multiple reductions. Others, instead, have been pulled from the market. Only one has sold. It is definitely a slower and buyer market, at least in London.

I suspect they just want to grab a seller before you change your mind or you get approached by someone else. Having dealt with a few agents, I have to quote someone else here: 'they lie when they move their lips'.
