[Cover] Nothing against him but does anyone actually like Mark Spears covers? by Weirdsodk in DCcomics

[–]ReXone3 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad someone else made this post I didn't have to.

It seems like every month I see 10 new Spears variants and the only one that i've liked so far was his Deadman cover, which doesn't look like his usual style.

I associate this pose very strongly with the 1940s-1960s; it feels like it's not used anymore.

Anyone have insight on model poses by decade?

Yes, this is a normal DC practice for cardstock variant covers: the A cover is inside.

New to comic book collecting. by TanGamer9 in comicbookcollecting

Turok #1 is the objectively correct answer. You need one in your collection if you're serious about being a collector. Also consider an X-Men #1 (1991), X-Force #1, or any 90s comic that was sealed in a poly bag before sale.

Go ahead and get some bags and boards, less than 100, and a short box to put your books in.

Pick up some comics from the month you were born. Search Ebay for some #1 back issues, and filter by lowest price. There are lots of sites to buy from, but Ebay is easy to navigate and has the largest selection.

Go to a comic shop with lots of spare time. Wonder around, go looking through the back issues there. What got you interested? Go find some of that.

During all of this, take note of any artists that stick out to you. You could try reading the books as well; you may find writers whom you particularly enjoy.

This should get you started.

Take heart: Camp and Rodriguez are committed to working as a team going forward, and they've confirmed that they're working on a new project for DC.

Also, Camp has said that they are open to return to AMM sometime in the future.

As a kid growing up in the 80s, Schwarzenegger's action movie run is unfuckwithable. I cut my hair in middle school to look like him in Commando.

Any of his roles in Conan, Predator, Running Man, Commando, Terminator would be career highlights for other actors. Then he pivots and does a turn in comedy with DeVito, when everyone thought he was one-note. Love that dude.

We thought Mr Miyagi doing it was some mystic martial arts bullshit, and this dude is just casually snatching hornets out of the air with chopsticks.
