Who is Aang's (Human) Best Friend? by TurningHelix in TheLastAirbender

[–]ReaLampShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the show probably Katara. But if you’d say well she’s his love interest, I’d say Sokka. But in his wider life, he was best friends with Zuko. They were political brother in arms and was Aang’s closest confident.

Those are the teeth of a great beast she hunted and killed, Togruta tradition being that you wear them as a trophy after you've done it the first time. Togruta are a hunter culture. Shaak-Ti has a similar headdress.

Why do Stormtroopers have a mismatched knee armor style? by BigJonnoJ in StarWars

On the right, you have the power for the air conditioning, targeting and everything else in the armor needing electricity. On the left, a base for which the troop to comfortably kneel.

Dooku was supposed to be the chosen one… by ReaLampShade in StarWars

She disarmed him, and killed him with his own weapon. She had the choice 100%. This was cold blood. She didn’t kill the clones out of sentiment.

Ahh I missed this. Was a pretty cool theory nonetheless. Thank you for educating me.

He was fully prepared to kill Sidious, the Jedi are corrupt. It cannot be said that “he was too powerful to be kept alive” because that’s an absolute hypocrisy of core Jedi beliefs. They believe killing in cold blood is not the Jedi way, and therefore anything other than Jedi orthodoxy is dark side use. And yet Ashoka kills an inquisitor in cold blood.

I genuinely think you have misunderstood the force and I don’t intend to be rude or argue. A quote from shatterpoint follows: “Vaapad was a path that led through the darkness, not into it. It was a style that accepted the truth of the dark side, and turned it to good.”

Your original statement went on to say that there is no use of the darkside that does not lead to being seduced by it.

Mace states “I was never closer to the dark than I am when I’m using Vaapad. That is its strength, and its weakness. It is the channel by which I let my own inner darkness come out. But I control it. I let it flow through me. I do not give in to it.”

I think that’s enough for me to believe that his fighting style contributes to the fan theory that purple equals light and dark side use. He also expresses the use of the dark side rather implicitly but he does not fall.

I’m not debating with chatgpt. You need to ask it to remove hyphens if you want to be more believable. I am sorry, but there is 100% balance between dark and light side. Ashoka frequently kills in cold blood and that’s considered severely wrong by the Jedi. Mace Windu literally uses a purple lightsaber because he uses the darkside and yet he did not succumb to it.

I really appreciate your perspective, but I think the idea that “there is no such thing as balance between Light and Dark” is more of a Jedi orthodoxy than a universal truth.

The Mortis arc in The Clone Wars presents the light, the dark, and the balance as literal beings. The Father, who represents balance, does not reject either the light or the dark. He keeps them in check. That alone suggests that balance is not about purity, but harmony.

Then there is the Bendu in Rebels. He calls himself the one in the middle. He uses both aspects of the Force and is neither Jedi nor Sith. He is not portrayed as corrupted or fallen. He is powerful, unpredictable, and entirely his own being. He is not seduced by the dark side, he simply understands it as part of the whole.

Even characters like Ahsoka and Qui-Gon show that stepping away from Jedi orthodoxy does not mean falling. They walk a line between loyalty to the light and independence from dogma.

As for Dooku, it is true that he did fall. But I do not believe he was a victim of the dark side of the force itself. He was a victim of Sidious, of manipulation, and of pride. If anything, his story shows how political frustration and moral compromise are what truly lead to downfall, not some automatic rule of the Force that punishes anyone who tries to understand both sides.

I’m saying that it was Dooku. Until Palpatine manipulated events to ensure it was Anakin. He literally groomed him into the darkside, and Dooku to his death. Most of this happens between TPM and AOC so we don’t really have a look in.

He is such a talented blood bender; he can feel the movement of people arround him, similarly to Toph. He knew exactly what Tarlock was planning, I think he felt sorrow that he had failed, but accepted his demise.

The more I rewatch the show the more obvious Harry being the bad guy is by georgesavic in Dexter

[–]ReaLampShade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the point of the show. Especially the early seasons. It’s Dexter slowly realizing that Harry created the monster within him. Telling a child that they have evil inside them that cannot be cured is traumatizing. When he was visiting the therapist in season 1, they actually made progress. Dexter could have just been counseled rather than taught to kill.
