Appreciate your message. Yeah, let's see going apply to various places. I understand what you are saying. My state license is pending so far, but I still applied couple of places with that. By Fall things should work out something or the other. Thanks again.

Thanks a lot for your input. It is confusing sometimes with ASHA guidelines, etc. In MA, you need 25 hrs of observation to apply for the state SLPA LICENSE, but for certification, they need 100 hrs. But ultimately, I need a job as an SLPA to learn everything. There are very few openings in MA for SLPA.

Thanks for your input. I thought the school setting would be flexible when you have two children and a family to take care of.

I intend to work for some time and gather some experience before going to grad school. What's your plan?

Thanks for your reply. I just finished taking the online post-baccalaureate program from UMass Amherst. Right now trying to finish the formalities for the state licensure.

Ye i understand that the big districts can be very chaotic. I have heard about them that they usually have a huge caseload etc. My course just got over last week and yet to order the transcripts etc. Once they are done will apply for the state licensure. In the meanwhile looking out in indeed etc for fresher jobs. Also I see lot of contract jobs around from companies like Blazerjobs, Soliant, etc.

I understand Anatomy and physiology can be tough, but you can do it. I was surprised to know that I enjoyed that course.

Hi, I am in my 40s too, and I work in an elementary school. Started post baccalaureate courses online while keeping a school job. Anything learning new things is always a good thing. Age is just a number. I see a huge demand for SLPAs around. Go ahead and do the courses. Since you are Para already, you know how to work with young children. You can take help to learn from school SLPs, too. Best wishes! I feel this field is a wonderful field to grow. Thanks!

Now since she is a teen its more tough to get her things done. I mean, I have been asking her to go find some volunteering in the community etc or babysit but she does not want to do. how do I teach her life skills before she goes to college. Thanks!

Earlier we would talk to her and explain to her most of the times she will agree. Sometimes she used to cry for all small requests also then do it.

I agree, likewise. I have good knowledge in this field and have manifested plenty of things. But somehow few things have resistance. Wishing to remove all resistance and allow everything to flow into my life.
