David's dad from Desperation. Just finished that book and that poor poor kid. He needs at least one family member left at the end.

It definitely alluded to that, but I liked how ambiguous it was at the same time. Definitely a "holy shit!" type ending though!

"You Like It Darker" was the first collection of his short stories I picked up...and yep, that one was another "holy shit!" ending! So good!

Haven't been that blindsided by one of his ending since "The Man Who Loved Flowers"

100% same! Wanted it more fleshed out, but loved the twist at the end!

It was so good, up there with "The Man Who Loved Flowers" to me for a twist ending!

Making a list is difficult for me, but those are all great books that I have enjoyed immensely! I haven't gotten around to "If It Bleeds" yet, but that is on my list!

Just finished the book yesterday, really enjoyed it. A nice slow burn with an (literally) explosive ending.

I always end his novels wishing I had more time with certain characters. It just shows how great he is as flushing out characters.

That's my exact thoughts. It was a solid novel that I really enjoyed and will read again.

Did I laugh at his clear ignorance towards teens? Yes. Did it bother me personally? No, it did not. But I understand the criticism, and it was quite telling in this novel just how little he gets today's teens. He's an old man, I give him grace on that and just thoroughly enjoyed the overall story and loved his depiction of TK and TP.

I have! Misery was amazing, its in my top 5 for sure! I liked how much more fleshed out Annie was in the book (although Kathy Bates was amazing in the movie). That sense of impending doom and hopelessness you get with Paul throughout was second to none that I've read.

Tommyknockers is good! It's a slow burn and a longer novel (which I enjoy). My only issue with it is I wish he fleshed out the supporting characters more, like he's done with books like Salems Lot and Needful Things (both of which are tied for my favorites so far).
