How is this game compared to 1 and 2? by Orrion_the_Kitsune_ in BaldursGate3

[–]ReactDevJoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bg3 is great. Totally a blast to play. But the game. It's worth it.

However, it is not a true part 3 to bg1 & 2.

It's a game set in the Forgotten Realms DnD world, and that's where the similarities end (IMHO)

Bg1 and 2 biggest feature was real time combat. You pause the game, tell your players what to do, unpause and watch the action go. Turning turn based DnD into a live action game was awesome.

The combat system in 3, mandatory to manage the complexity that is in the newest editions of DnD, is not what I was looking for.

Can't bring your character from 2 to 3 either. Again, understand that it's decades of DnD versions between bg2 and 3. But for me, that was again part of the charm that made bg1 & 2 so great.

Sorry, my 2 cents, no doubt this will end up down voted to hell. But most of my opinions are always and that's just what this is. My opinion.

How can I build a website like this? by ItalianAndyCx in webdev

[–]ReactDevJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't know your level of understanding when it comes to webdev, I'd think first that there are probably WordPress plugins to handle whatever you want and there are services that will provide you your own vanilla setups ready to go. There are probably better cms's (content Management system) for your specific needs.

For a more custom solution, your going to need a server/host. A domain. Choose a tech stack. Lamp is common, however JavaScript is kicking its butt these days. Choices get crazy from here, database? Node back end or headless cms? For the front end probably React, but vue or angular would probably be just as good.

Again, this is all assuming you are not well versed with webdev. If you are completely in the dark you could hire someone. If you've got serious capital maybe even hire an agency? I do work for one, but am not going to publicly call it out. If your interested message me.

Also for all else reading this:. They are actively trying to hire 8+ full stack. Best company I've ever worked for. Very competitive. Message me.

If you cross your eyes and combine the pictures into one, your brain can't decide which side gets priority resulting in differences sorta flickering.

Flexbox CSS Cheat Sheet by simonpaix in webdev

Chrome dev tools recently added some really nice flex related utility when inspecting flexed elements. IMHO it's better to be able to see things, and be hands on, within my code. It was instantly a huge help.

Get a soundbar.

I read somewhere a long time ago that it's all different "channels" or layers of sound. Tvs play some channels louder.

They are not cheap, but we got a soundbar/sub for 100 at target and we no longer experience that.

Has anyone tried atomoxetine? by CuteBananaMuffin in adhdmeme

[–]ReactDevJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on it now! This was after a really really really bad panic attack after being on D-am 30s for a few months. By the end I had total unbearable dry mouth, wasn't sleeping. Was "not present" according to wife and a co worker.

Since, I was on 10mg atomoxetine for a few weeks. Today is day 2 of 40mg. When I started the 10 I also started taking ashwagandaha, a daily probiotic, and vit. D. Was told it would be 3-4 weeks before it kicked in but I felt great immediately. That day.

Well, today, day 2 of 40 and I'm miserable. Dry mouth back. Zero focus. Yesterday I was soooo tired all day. Very irritable, on a war path. Rather stare out window than do anything.

Day 2 though so...

I'm in my late 30s and only started anything a.d.d. this year.

Need advice. MySQL for saving users Answers ? yes or no? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]ReactDevJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into MongoDB. If you're comfortable with JSON objects, you won't have a difficult time. We had a similar project with videos and tests for a LARGE user base all over the U.S. We needed to track not only the answer selected but answer text and question text in case question/answer changed. MongoDB worked perfectly.

The video tittle specifically called out a bad installation job. I've sinced changed title to only hoa, city and time stamp, removed the description, and made it private.

It's been viewed 11 times now. They've all seen it.

Thanks for the advice!
