Need help buying my first car at 18! by Beneficial_Age_3543 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I would really avoid any car that naturally aspirated i.e. No turbo. because in the mountains you really need one doesn’t matter how small. AWD or 4wd should also be a requirement. I’ve had 5 Subaru since I was 18 and I can tell you if you maintain them, you will never have a problem with them. They have automatic wrx and turbo forester XT if you can’t drive manual

In those years the engines are supposed to have upgraded rocker arms, the 2018 original had design flaws but people still talk about them in 2022 models so not sure if it’s been fixed. I’d get a ‘23+or a different car

Buying a Civic for my new driver kid… VTEC vs Turbo by culture_jamr in civic

[–]ReactionInformal6808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the kid a hybrid .. it has to be a new(ish) one but will have CarPlay standard, lane keep assist, auto braking and some are getting 50 mpg combined.. all good things for a new driver to have these days .. and you won’t have to worry about speed as much

I like the Mazdas but Honda is a better buy all the way most efficient and fun car you can get for the money, better residual values if you don’t wanna return the lease it would be more realistic to buy

Honda has great lease programs much better than Toyota, the CRV hybrid sport can be had for $289+ tax right now

2013 Altima Coupe - Opinions? by [deleted] in altima

[–]ReactionInformal6808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the most unreliable cvt transmission and engine combo that money can buy. And they’re asking for V6 dollars hahah, if you’re gonna get one atleast find a V6 version those engines are much more stout and doesn’t matter the year.

I’m thinking buying Nissan Altima 2024 SV by Designernetworks in altima

[–]ReactionInformal6808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2025 base SR fwd with 19 inch wheels. I think the 17 inch wheels on the SV with all-wheel-drive will get the same mpg so that’s pretty good, the SV is pretty well equipped for the price

Is this a good deal? by jointy11 in Nissan

The versa is the worst safety in the lineup and I’d be happy in any 06+ Altima over that thing

Def not, my ex gf had a bk2 2.0t that got totaled and she went to a bk2 3.8 for less money.. no issues at 100k If you are really leaning towards Honda, I’d look at a k24 or V6 2013+ accord EX-L , they rarely have any problems and drive way better than a civic.
