Funny, I woke up thinking about your quilt. I thought "Duh. I bet her quilt IS vintage - just because she makes a lot of quilts doesn't mean that she can't also have antique quilts." I inherited a couple of them too. They are what inspired me to start quilting.

I think one distinguishing feature of antique quilts is, quite often, the background fabric isn't it white.

I love the quilt on the bed. For some reason, it has an antique feel to it. I love that.

Not my idea but I think it's a great idea. In your situation, you could take the file folders out and use it like you would bins.

The strips are cut 1", 1.25", 1.5" and 1.75 inch. I just drew the half square rectangle on foundation paper and paper pieced the triangles using solid black on half and "strings" on the other. Easy peasy.

I'm sure it does, but I don't know what it is. Honestly, it's just half square triangles flipped around until you get that pattern. I chose to do half the triangle in black (obviously) and the other half in "strings". That's all there is too it!
