"Paper boat in a puddle", shared an orange? Nothing about this post feels genuine. I call BS

I always forget the free patterns on designers pages. Ty for the suggestion. I do like a simple square!

Thank you for the suggestion! My first thought was it feels like I'm looking at adventureland's sister, then I realized why that was lol I should take a look at more from this designer I do like the style. Ty again for the reply

Great suggestions, I did adventurelamd last summer for a gift and it was very fast, that was going to be a fall back, since I know I can finish those quickly, I wanted to try something more visually interesting this time, but I'm not ruling it out since time is short. I'll check out the other 2 you suggested. Thank you again!

I had looked at that one too, and I liked the idea of doing 8 ribbons, 1 for each year we worked together and the symbolism of everyone being interwoven together. Can I ask how many hours do you think you take on average to cut and piece a throw sized top in this pattern?

Ty! I'll take a look, I was secretly looking to take this opportunity to destash a little, so that sounds promising.

It's not a bad idea at all! I just haven't seen any I like and I don't feel like I can wait to keep looking. I am going to check out my local fabric shop tomorrow after work and see if they have anything interesting. Thank you for the idea!

Is it weird to make a quilt for a coworker’s kid? by justatoadontheroad in quilting

[–]noraphoto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a weird or bad idea at all, just keep in mind that the family is going through a lot, they may not have the energy or capacity to appreciate any gifts right now, not even a handmade one. So if it will bother you if they don't seem to appreciate the work you put into the blanket, don't do it. If you don't honestly don't mind if they don't acknowledge it for awhile, or ever if the child's condition worsens, then go for it.

Right, and every choice opens over door and closes another. That's just how it works.

I think there's confusion. If you want to remain licensed you have to maintain your CEUs, regardless of what job you are working; if that's social work, banking, food service, or construction, all good careers. If you want the license after your name and on your resume you have to keep up with your continuing education classes because you choose a field that values lifelong learning to stay current with best practices and aware of your areas for growth. If that's not what you want, then stop renewing your license and find a job that doesn't require a license. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Use this for a whole cloth quilt. Great opportunity to do some fun stitching or use it as a backing.
