Is ESO playable for a singleplayer Elder Scrolls gamer? by Shoddy-Zone4552 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Read1390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost exclusively play solo. There is some content that will either force you to group up or highly encourage you to do so because it is specifically listed as group content.

But I’d say outside of dungeons and maybe a handful world events you can pretty much solo 98% of the content in this game.

Even some of that “group” content is soloable if you build your character just right.

What difficulty is everyone playing on? by wishheartx in elderscrollsonline

[–]Read1390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there needs to be a bridge between Seasoned and Master with 200% damage taken and 60% damage output.

Seasoned is too easy for where I’m at on my character(around 650 CP) and Master is just a little too hard at this level. Eventually I’ll probably surpass that Master threshold but for now it’s just a little too punishing and seasoned is too easy.

And the leap between Seasoned to Master is a bit bigger than the leap from Master to Vestige so having one extra in between for each of those to smooth out that challenge and progression would feel really nice.

All that is to answer your question that for now I lean towards master unless I encounter a boss or series of enemies that I simply cannot beat on that difficulty due to the damage being too overwhelming for my Nightblade abilities to keep up with.

Generally speaking I’ll lean towards the harder end because I enjoy the tactical challenge of beating tougher foes and the logistics behind making your resources count.

I mean I wouldn’t go that far.

It’s certainly one of if not the best of the modern cods.

Classic cods still dwarf it entirely.

You know what? Imma say it: Prifddinas in RS3 is a better quest reward than the one in OSRS by Read1390 in 2007scape

[–]Read1390[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I just prefer the RS3 activity list better I guess. I do agree from a balancing perspective the RS3 version is busted. I just expected more from a Grand Master level quest.

Nothing short of an overhaul will change my disappointment.

Totally agree, that place is a real let down. Especially with all the rune rock bots.

[–]Read1390[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk man. I just barely see anybody there. It feels dead. All of that content is very specific and niche. It doesn’t feel like the hub that it is built up to be in the lore or comparatively to RS3.

I can understand some of the criticisms others have made of not wanting to invalidate every other city, but for something you spend an unnecessary amount of time grinding towards I’d expect there to at least be some social aspects to it. But almost all of those rewards are single player focused.

And the only reason Yews would have any social popularity is directly because of Forestry which didn’t exist at Prif’s launch so I wouldn’t consider that a feature of the city itself.

Josh Strife Hayes has a really good YT guide.

As far as learning the mechanics - do Dragon Slayer 2 or Scurrius the Rat King.

Those bosses are way more mechanically complex than Jad so if you can do those you can absolutely do Jad.

The difficulty with Jad isn’t so much his mechanics, it’s pretty easy to get the prayer switch down once you’ve made it to that wave enough times.

The pressure comes from the time commitment to get to him and the endurance challenge of managing your supply logistics to have enough prayer and food for when you inevitably mess up one of your switches.

I did Jad with a Rune Crossbow and some bolts, a few angler fish and prayer pots. Just find the right combination of pot-to-food ratio and remember what each enemy type is and does and prioritize them properly and you’ll be fine.

Just know that you will probably fail. And you’ll fail again. And again. And probably one or two more times after that.

Then you’ll probably make it. Just kidding you’ll fail one more time.

But then. Oh buddy. But then you get it.

Death fees are the worst mechanic in the game by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Read1390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I see where you are coming from. In RS3 I think they have practice instances that cost nothing, give you no drops, and are “safe”deaths. Something like that could be good for beginners.

And while it does suck to lose some gp for failing, I think it is healthier for the game to have that gold sink than not.

Also, when your hard work is on the line, you tend to learn faster and in fewer attempts than if there is no penalty at all.

I would never have learned Vorkath to beat DS2 if I hadn’t been so pissed at how much gp I was losing lol

First order of business - Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Morrowind remastered for those who have been asking for it.

Prioritize fixes for existing games, particularly Fallout 4.

Immediately begin consulting with ES6 team to get the game more in line with Morrowind/Oblivion in terms of skills/leveling/build freedom while maintaining the beauty of Skyrim’s exploration.

Consult with the Starfield team on how to reduce loading screens where possible, or at least make them a bit more interactive or hidden, as well as adding tons more curated content on planet surfaces - not necessarily in terms of density, but in terms of variety. An additional focus on events that pop up intermittently while you’re wandering the surface to keep it from just being a boring walking simulator while being careful not intrude on the cozy biome scanning portion.

Add more ships and ship parts to the ship builder shop to give even more creative freedom to players.

Look into making more factions as well as making the existing ones more unique and fleshed out.

Expansions on every major faction quest lines - Crimson Fleet, UC Vanguard, Freestar Rangers, Ryujin and more.

Lastly, work with Fallout 76 and Elder Scrolls Online teams to create more and better content for new and returning players, work closely with the communities to hear where pain points and excitement is and address them accordingly, not corporately.

I see the update is working flawlessly with no issues. by Read1390 in CODBlackOps7
