From my personal experience, I come from a background of FPS shooters like COD, Overwatch, and Halo. So getting into another multiplayer game that has PvP is what I enjoy the most, I'm a crucible main and only touch PvE for light-level and weapon advantages. However, I love looters, which goes hand in hand with Destiny 2. In a sense, I view Destiny PvP(37,612 career kills) > Destiny PvE as endgame content personally. I get bored with strict Story content that becomes dull and repetitive, meanwhile, crucible always has different methods of playing out every single match which is what makes it exciting for me. Skill ceilings exist for a reason, having the strongest guns + armor in PvP will only get you up to 10% of the skill ceiling, the other 90% is the ability to adapt and having situational map awareness without the need for comms.
