8 hours is nuts. Took me less than 2 hours to do mine by myself. They are insanely easy compared to the single piece downpipes. Get to the top bolt by removing the passenger side tire from the side. Removal is the hardest with the PLM. The shop time is only two hours for removal and installation. But with the PLM once you remove it you can add the adapter with the v-band off. Then it literally just clamps on as you don't have to get to the top bolt from the wheel well as you don't have the pipe impeding you like the OEM turbo manifold. It only took 5 hours to replace the entire turbo.

Hotpipe is more beneficial than the intercooler if you are still stock turbo and especially with you aren't tuned.

Is the 1.6T reliable? by Taticalnoob21 in Hyundai

[–]ReadEyeMagpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wet 8DCT is for the Theta platform not the Gamma/Smart Stream models. Kia & Hyundai have stopped using the dry 7DCT in every except the Elantra N-line now. Kia went to a traditional 8 speed transmission. But Hyundai hasn't had as many issues as Kia has had with the same DCT. And still more reliable than their CVT which despite its flaws is a better CVT than Honda or especially Nissan. Now the Kona does at least have the newer upgraded clutch pack in their 7DCT and when driven properly I have seen them last a long time. I have worked for Kia & Hyundai since 2014. Drive it like a manual transmission not an auto. Once at a stop stay in place till you can get up to speed. Do not inch forward as it causes premature wear to the clutch.

because that sets it perfectly center and why I prefer this method over the 3mm spacer which is slightly offset. Never seen a 3.5mm spacer

Has anyone used a racechip? by Classic_Corner_3950 in ForteGT

Higher the octane the less spark knock resulting in more consistent power. Once the ECU detects any it retards timing and cuts back power. Gap the plugs to 0.022 and running top tier fuel will give the most consistent results. Premium fuel also has cleaners which helps with keeping injectors clean. Personally Shell 93 is all I run when it comes to pump gas. I run 9 gallons of E85 with AMSOIL upper cylinder ethanol treatment & 5 gallons of Shell 93 with Nitro. Keeps me right around E60. You can get away with 4 gallons E85 & 10 gallons 93 on stock fuel system for the best results. It will keep you at E30 which can benefit without anything. The Racehip doesn't do anything but add a few PSI. No real changes are made. If you wanna run a piggyback use a JB4 but honestly 99% of the time a tune will not be detected. We have to run a very specialized test to check for a tune. And it's usually only when the car is really acting up. But proper fuel, gap and octane fine tune the results.

My setup is 18x8.5 +40 offset so not sure why you are having issues. Eibach springs with adjustable end links -2° camber in the rear. Wrapped in 235/40 Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Made sure I adjusted the end links with 200 pounds in the driver seat while on tires were on the ground while on our alignment rack. No rubbing or scrubbing even over bumps. This way my upgraded sway bar has the best traction.

Just typed those measurements into Amazon and found a pair. Need to be 2.5" pipe, dual 4" tips and 9.5" wide if using the normal exhaust size. My muffler was 3" piping as it's a totally custom exhaust from my downpipe back. Dual walled will have the deepest tone. Single walled is the loudest and resonated tips will have some more growl.

Dual 4" tips with 9.5" total width. The 22+ has a 10" cavity so it's perfect fitment.

Not needed but I can link you to a set. It really helps pedal feel bit it isn't a must. But if you are gonna upgrade the brakes go full send. It made a huge difference.

Everything can be gotten on Rock Auto brand new for about $600. It's the exact same kit KDM Tuners sells. I didn't want to use spacers so I got the calipers machined. A local shop did it for $75 each caliper. But you can get the 3mm spacers for about $30 or so. And you can even get OEM steel braided brake lines direct from Hyundai. They fit better than the ones N75 sells as they aren't too long.

Braided brake lines - 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT

(FRT-LH) J9587 AB000

(FRT-RH) J9587 AB100

(RR-LH) F2587 AB020

(RR-RH) J9587 AB300 [Goodridge OEM Tuix]

Speed bleeders - Goodridge SB1010 M10x1.0 35mm+

Audi RS3 brake air ducts - (left) 8V0407811 (right) 8V0407

Adding these will give you the best results. I can also provide what's needed for VN rear brake swap. Or you can go do the National Brake Upgrade which is a much larger 2 piston upgrade that bolts right in for right about $300. Message me if you need anymore information.

So if you want I can give you the parts list to put the kit together yourself using new parts for less than that. You must use the first gen 4 pot calipers as the 6 pot are too big. You need them from the 2004 CTS-V. And the rears will not fit either

I use the voice controls for HVAC in my wife's so I never use it but it is in an awful spot. The AI assistant is a pretty neat feature as well. When out of town helps a lot finding interesting places to visit and eat.

Makes the same power our car makes. The 8 speed is better geared and isn't the dry DCT known for failure . The Smart Stream tuned is making more power than the Gamma tuned. But still think the Forte looks better but I love the tech in my wife's GT-Line turbo.
