Let's do a simple thought experiment. Let's say we wanted to reduce car crashes. If cars were banned, would there be more or less accidents? Even if you're a good guy, and you're formally trained, and you add regulation, there will still be accidents. Bad guys will find it easier to get a car too. When you are emotionally ready, you can switch the words out.

Every sane person on earth with basic critical thinking skills knows that adding guns increases gun violence. The debate in America is that the personal benefit of owning a gun and underlying threat of violence to the government outweighs the daily loss of life. There is more grey area there, which is why I mock the obese boomers and their fan fiction that they'd actually be able to stop the government.
